$5
At least.
Cashman should have just kept Didi. He wasn’t the best but he would have been better than Torres at SS.
IMO Cashman sent Torres back a few steps as the poor kid was concentrating too much at playing SS and his hitting suffered as a side result.
Just send Cleveland my trade package and BECOME THE NEW YORK YANKEES AGAIN!

Sevy goes to the pen for 2021 with the option of trying out for the 2022 season as the pen might be where he belongs after his bad injury.
I get tired of that stupid talk of trying to be like the Rays.....THEY ARE FORCED to do that.
Do you think if Sternberg had the revenue that Hal has he would be trying to save every nickel and dime and cut corners to build a roster?
He wouldn’t be. drunken sailor but I guarantee he would be spending more than Hal as the net profit would still be massive.
Bottom line is NET PROFIT and we don’t know what the actual numbers are with the Yankees but I’m sure they are a tad higher than the Rays.
Hal needs to understand that his buffoons can’t replicate what the Rays can do with their awesome scouts and development staff.
Cash tries to buy INTERNATIONAL players and still strikes out!
Just spend heavily in years you need to and quit worrying about Years 6 and 7 of the contracts.
2) Trevor Rosenthal
He seemed headed for the scrap heap a year ago after an ugly 2019 season, and had to settle for a minor league deal with the Royals. But Rosenthal re-discovered his lost command and still had the 98 mph fastball that made him a sensation as a young closer for the Cardinals several years earlier.
The right-hander pitched well enough for the Royals to warrant a trade to a contender, and then dominated down the stretch for the Padres, allowing no earned runs in nine appearances spanning 10 innings. The Dodgers roughed him up in his one NLDS appearance, but at age 30, Rosenthal is going to attract considerable attention.
Who Signs Him? Yankees. Their bullpen wasn’t as dominant as expected, so look for Brian Cashman to add a low-cost reliever or two this winter.
7) Garrett Richards
Somewhat like Paxton, Richards always had high-end stuff that wowed scouts but has repeatedly been derailed by injuries. The right-hander made only 31 starts over four seasons from 2016-’19 but managed to stay healthy for the Padres through the abbreviated 2020 season, pitching to a 4.03 ERA over 51 1/3 innings.
Scouts say Richards, who turns 33 in May, is still a tempting option, in part because of high spin rates on both his fastball and curveball that teams value more than ever these days.
Who Signs Him? Yankees. They love their analytics, so perhaps they’ll buy in on those spin rates and take a shot that Richards can stay healthy.

A couple of #Yankees winter ball updates:
Deivi Garcia is slated to start for Tigres del Licey tomorrow vs. Gigantes del Cibao.
Gary Sanchez is supposed to play for Toros del Este starting Friday. It will be his first time in the league since 2013-14.
I have this feeling that Sanchez either shtis the bed or lights it up but still pulls everything and sees it as a success.
I hope the Yankees are in contact with their hitting coach and ask that Sanchez looks to drive the ball the other way. (to be clear, by that I mean to right field).
I really believe Sahcnez was a victim of Launch angle and exit velocity. His swing changed in the las couple of seasons. He stopped hitting to all fields and was only looking to hit it out. I think he can still b a 275+ hitter with a good OBP and 30+ hr if he goes back to how he used to hit.
When he is good, they can't shift against him.
^ agreed
So if he hasn't been a MLB hitter in 3yrs, how'd he make that AS team in 19 and hit those 34hrs.
