Agreed. I think it is crazy to give up huge packages for a RP who might throw 60 innings the whole year. They could sign a guy like Hand for much cheaper and deal the other guys for starting pitching.

Well first off I never said they had no value or weren’t valuable . I said they weren’t that valuable . And i would think his era of 7.11 this past season in three games could atleast have a small impact on his trade value . At the very least it could make another team think he might not be ready for the majors yet .
Andujar is too young to be wasted on the bench or in the minors just to wait until someone gets hurt . He needs everyday playing time and the yanks can’t do that . And that small sample size is exactly why he shouldn’t be counted on to play in the outfield effectively because he still needs to learn to play in the outfield . I mean do you really want to see andujar paying in the outfield during a plaYoff game in October if Hicks and judge both get hurt?
Like it or not the yanks are gonna have to make difficult decisions very soon including now . It’s not possible to keep all talent . Some of it has to be moved . Abs andujar is an example of that
i never said, he should go to the minors, but he can have a utility role on this team, and a semi permanent one once the injuries pile up. Stanton is practically an invalid at this point.
As for trades, you think you can get true value for Andujar based on what he did 3 years ago? He's more valuable to the yankees than what he can get back in a return. No one has seen him play any position other than an awful third base, which potentially eliminates him as a trade option for the entire national league. The only teams who would potentially want him would be AL teams, and even then, I'd like to know what team out there will give you a top player back for DH, who hit well, for one season, 3 years ago.
Andujar was probably playing the outfield all season, we just didn't see it because he was at the alternate site. He'll also play it in winter ball and will obviously be doing it in spring training. Making routine plays in left field doesn't take a gold glove. I'd try Andujar at first as well, so he could potentially get ABs there should voit go down.
Appears DJ will decline QO, no shock or surprise.
What is the next move for the Yankees? They get a pick if he signs elsewhere.
How high an offer will they present? One year deal with inflated AAV?

Michael Kay reported yesterday that DJ is asking for 4/100, do you think they Yanks do that? I'm not sure they will
They may go 25M per, but not for 4 years imo. Although they probably should!
They may turn their attention to Lindor if the price (term) gets too high on DJ. They may also take a closer look at Simmons a FA and GG SS with a great glove and average bat. Contact hitter who doesn't K often. They have also been linked to Didi and Marcus Semien. Seems to me they are determined to move Torres back to 2B, if media reports are believed.
Imo they still need to focus on the #2 behind Cole.
