I fully agree that the point is to enjoy the game. I also love the mix of vets and young players. The issue is, the Yankees really only have 2 young players. Torres and Frazier. Andujar is young but who know what type of time he will see. I hope a ton but with Stanton on the roster? Andujar will struggle for ABs.

My feeling is and has been that this team can't win it all with Stanton, Judge and Sanchez.
I don't think there is any way they can move Stanton. Sanchez could very likely fizzle, so that problem could take care of itself.
But, could Judge net you Bieber? I would absolutely explore the market for Judge. I would go a step further. I would consider moving Hicks to LF and bringing up Florial to be the every day CF. Bat him 9th and let him run. I think a player like him can ignite a team.
Cole-Bieber (or like him) Monty, German, Schmidt (until Sevy returns).
I do think there needs to be changes to this team and if they aren't a real favorite, do it now. Give the fans a vision other than station to station, Home run baseball

I do think DJ is getting annoyed with the Yankees and will likely sign elsewhere.

The dodgers are interested too . But I do agree the Yankees will likely resign dj . I just feel they should have moved on from him after their last offer and focused on their biggest need , the starting rotation .

I understand LeMahieu wanting to bring more teams into the fold but unless the Dodgers or Red Sox bite, where else can he go? All anyone has to do is go down a checklist of teams by need and by what you hear in regards to how aggressive teams will be to know it doesn't look great for the players. Big market teams like the Phillies, Cubs, Giants, are doing nothing. DJ just doesnt have a ton of destinations.

The Mets getting McCann, Lindor and Carrasco only hurts the leverage of guys like Springer, Bauer, and Realmuto as well.

I dont think the Dodgers are interested at 100 million dollars. Their estimated payroll this year is 195 million dollars. That puts them pretty close to the luxury tax and a move like LeMahieu puts them over. Not to mention, LeMahieu isn't an everyday 3rd baseman. They already have their future 2nd baseman in Gavin Lux as well.

No one expected the mets or Padres to do what they did either . At the very least dj is trying to gain leverage on the Yankees and with lindor gone , he has some .

The Padres weren't reigning WS champs who are approaching the luxury tax. Not to mention, it's not that surprising the Padres are aggressively pursuing talent. They were a playoff team last year.

He's got less leverage actually because one of his potential suitors are now gone.

He gained leverage because his main competition in lindor is off the table too . You can’t ignore that . The Yankees lost their plan B .

You don't seem to understand. The Mets are one of the few teams who were looking to add significant payroll. Now they are off that list in all likelihood. That hurts LeMahieu. The more teams you take off the table, the less leverage a player has in getting what he is looking for.

You don’t understand that the Yankees don’t really have a plan B right now . At the very least dj has gained leverage on the Yankees .

I understand completely. You can't create a market that isn't there. Unless a team is willing to beat the Yankees current offer, the ball is in their court. Given the lack of teams willing to add significant payroll, it limits DJ's options.

All a team has to do to beat the yanks offer is to add a 5th year. For all we know he could take less than 100 mill if someone offers him 5 years.

Yankees offered him 4 years at 87 mill and it is well known his current asking price in 5 years 110 mill . If it was only about money , he would have taken the Yankees offer by now . I still think the years are more important to him than the money .
