He is right but he shouldn’t expect the Yankees to do much other than bring back dj . It is just inexcusable to let one damned player hold up your entire off season for this long .

Well, I would think that you'd assume DJ costs anywhere between $20-25m a year and continue pressing forward to rectify that rotation and bullpen. What good is it to sign DJ to 4 or 5 years with no rotation and bullpen help?

The more I think about it, that Lindor deal really burns me up. We should have been all over that. I don't love Carrasco at this point in his career, but he certainly would have been an upgrade to this rotation and it wouldn't have precluded us from still going after Castillo.

That is what burns me up too . Yankees have so many trade chips like Schmidt or Garcia , andujar , even Frazier . And then there are all the good prospects at the farm . It is just the height of stupidity that they haven’t atleast made any good trades yet .

So if you trade Frazier, who plays left? We know it won'tbe Stanton, yanks have said they will only use him at DH. Should they then bring back Gardner fir another 8-10 mill?

I only gave an example of players they can trade if cashman would get off his butt . My point is that it’s in excusable to let one player hold up your entire off season when so many trade options have been out there

That is why I find it inexcusable . They are focusing everything on dj and yet they are currently an injury to cole away from being a sub .500 team .

This one is easy...Michael Brantley. A .300 hitter who's BB/K ratio is about 1/1 and is also considered as plus defender in left. Even better he won't cost that much in terms of money and length of contract. I'd guess he can be signed for what the Yanks signed DJ for 2 years ago.

Yanks are apparently deep into discussion with the Cardinals for Carlos Martinez. The framework of the rumored deal is Martinez plus cash to the Yanks for Andujar + a lottery ticket.

Isn't Martinez most a reliever now? any trade they make, especially using a chip like Andujar, should go to fixing the rotation IMO.

I was also told that after the Lindor trade that the Yanks were getting very serious about trying to get Castillio. That has slowed way down after Cincy asked for Dominguez plus. From what i was told Cincy wants Dominguez back in any package for Castillio and at this point, Cashman or whatever inmate is running the asylum lately have refused to part with him.

I understand not parting with Dominguez and not overpaying for Castillio but we really need to start making some moves to actually improve the roster before all the upgrades are gone.

I would trade Dominguez for Castillo , something has to be done and other than sign Bauer he is our only other choice . Right now if they want to improve the rotation the choice is either Bauer or Castillo . As for Carlos martinez , I said 3 months ago that cashman would trade for a reliever and I was right . All that has to happen now is tor dj and Tanaka to be brought back and my predictions will be right . It’s the 2018 off season again .

They know the Yankees are pinned and are going to leverage hard against Castillo.
