Yankees: Trevor Bauer trolls Barstool Red Sox blogger with NYY hint

Yankees fans likely didn’t expect to pick sides in a Trevor Bauer–Jared Carrabis beef, but after one escalated on Thursday due to a 64-account Baseball Twitter bracket that has the whole online world buzzing, they couldn’t help but perk up.

It all began with the same light trash talk — Bauer claiming Carrabis would get his butt whooped one-on-one once the bracket whittled itself down, Carrabis claiming he didn’t need to concern himself with the opinion of the sheep-like free agent pitcher. All that good stuff.

But when Bauer turned the spotlight onto Carrabis’ slumping Red Sox franchise, the gloves came off.

Snoozing in 2020, snoozing in 2019, just waiting for that cheater Alex Cora to come back and re-install his cameras so all could be well again. What an amazing two years it’s been in Boston.

Carrabis had a comeback at the ready, insinuating Bauer would be joining the Sox soon, and might as well get all the jabs in he could in the interim.

That’s where we come in.

Bauer’s response? Grabbing a Yankees hat out of nowhere and showing Carrabis just how unlikely he was to ever use the home clubhouse at Fenway.

Look for those odds to change . Especially if the yanks don’t do enough about the starting rotation this off season . Either way according to that article the mets and Yankees aren’t that far apart in regards to their chances at making the ws . Both of in the top 6 teams favored to make the ws .

you do realize that article was from yesterday, not like the sources you quote from 6-7yrs ago. Those are Vegas current odds based on the players the teams have on the roster now. So even without DJ, Paxton, Tanaka and Happ Vegas is picking the Yanks over the Mets. You ever try betting against Vegas? they get it right far more often than they are wrong

You are so adamant about the Mets going to be better than the Yanks, why not take Doc up on his bet now? you have everything going in your favor, you have a new owner who is the wealthiest in the league that is determined to make a huge splashes on the FA market and probably the trade market also. They have 1 of the 2 best starters in baseball and also have one of the better, would be the best if they sign Bauer, rotations in baseball. Then you have the Yanks who are going to have to spend 20M to get DJ back, need multiple starting pitchers and atleast 1 quality reliever with less than 30m to spend to fix it all. With that kind of budget the Yanks aren't going to be able to put together a championship roster. That doesn't even include the mass of injuries that the Yanks are likely going to have

You would seem to have a massive advantage and your hesitating to take Doc bet? put up or shut up

Yes I know it’s from yesterday and if you read the article it sAys that the odds will likely change soon because a lot can and will Happen before this off season is over . Unless the Yankees get Bauer and bullpen help I do expect the odds to change . I am waiting to see where Bauer , Tanaka and lindor go before I even think about betting on anything. And Vegas is not wrong often ? I seem to recall that the Yankees were heavy favorites just 5 months ago right before the season started , to make it to the World Series this past season and they were indeed wrong now weren’t they ? Heck in the last 3 seasons the yanks were favored to make it to the ws by Vegas only behind the dodgers , Astros and maybe the Red Sox and didn’t make it either year proving Vegas wrong too...

Of course the odds will change when teams make an addition, thats not long division to figure out. That doesn't change the fact the Mets plan on making multiple big splashes and build a contender right now. The Yanks on the other hand have alot of holes to fill and only about 30m to do it. U have more than implied that if neither team does anything else you would expect the Mets to have the better record, so that more than suggests you believe they are the better team right now. With the Mets no where near done making additions and the Yanks being cash strapped enough that they might not be able to bring DJ back or get Lindor, much less fix the pitching issues your advantage should only get bigger.

What are you talking about ? I said if the mets did the moves they were rumored to do and the Yankees didn’t do much or anything then the mets would have the better team . And last I checked this off season is far from over and many moves still need to be made. So why would anyone in their right mind make any bets now?

His personality reminds me of a David Wells type back in the late 90s when Torre couldn’t stand him but loved his pitching.

I’d take Bauer in a heartbeat over DJ. We need pitching not the 2008 formula that wrecked us. And that is what Cashman has been hinting at and that is go with the kids in the rotation to save on payroll.

No! They had Boomer, Cone, El Duque, Clemens mixed with Andy.

With too many one-tool power hitters, the Yankees are unlikely to onboard another one despite Schwarber’s Bronx-friendly bat. Coming up through the minors, Kyle Schwarber was a one-tool prospect, and has proven to be as predicted, a one-tool player in the majors.

I think many of us underestimate the loss of those two this past season. Had Yankees had either in post season to send out in game two rather than a green Garcia, season outcome may have been very different. imo.

I don't think German is an innings eater. He always seemed to be deep in counts and a hit away from a big inning.
If he wants to eat innings, he needs to get quicker outs.
