One article that says the AL is better than the NL.
One about the nl vs al pitching gap expanding and the last one says there is a problem with opponent quality in the NL that states he central division is one of the easiest to pitch in.
Not sure how that makes the AL tougher to pitch in than NL and disagree that its a FACT
Cole is an example of a pitcher with no AL experience who got better when he left the NL. There are tons of pitchers that don't have a performance issues when they go to the AL.
I will give u that most AL lineup are deeper because of the DH but there are some wicked lineups in the NL also
BTW if your going to make an argument that the NL is easier to pitch in than the AL, or any argument for that matter, u might want to find a little more current info than 2 articles, from Bleacher Report no less, that were written in 2013 and 2014. Bleacher Report isn't exactly a great source of solid info, there are far better sites to get info from.
The third article is talking about last yr and the completion pitchers did or didn't pitch to because they only played 2 divisions last yr and the difficulty of choosing a CY Young winner in either league because pitchers across the league didn't pitch against the same competition even in their own league. Its not surprising that the 2 CY young winners from last yr were both from the central division. The central division only played themselves last yr and as u stated the AL & NL central are the easiest divisions to pitch in. It also says in that same article the the reason why the AL is traditionally harder to pitch in is because of the DH.
That BP article did have one surprise in it. Carrasco had a better DRC+ than Bauer, Castillio and Giolito
I really wish the Yanks would just make a trade for both Lindor and Carrasco. That would improve the team both in the short term and long term. Together they would only cost us around 30m for next yr. Cleveland is trying hard to trade both of them because of their financial situation. They thought they were going to sign Dahl for around 3m before the owner said they couldn't afford it
Carrasco is no where near the guy he used to be. #4 at best.
Kluber and Talllon seem like to much of a risk for a team looking for an innings eater.
If I have to take a big risk on any of the guys being mentioned, its Paxton. He will be the cheapest. Just give him and incentive laden deal. And, the Yankees will know the real truth behind his elbow issues.
I say Paxton and make a trade.
[QUOTE=dayners81;33746819]agreed and its not even close. IMO 3 of the top 5 teams play in the NL[/QUOTE
That’s just 3 teams and other than the dodgers who’s best hitter came from the AL in Betts the other two teams are mainly known for their pitching. The articles were talking about overall . The dh alone makes it tougher for pitchers . Heck one article stated that the NL central is one of the weakest in baseball , and a majority of tailons starts came vs teams in that division .
Either way I proved why the AL is tougher to pitch in . It’s may mostly be because of the dh but it still proves my point. Taillon is not proven in the AL . He is mostly proven vs his own division .and at the very least it’s a good bet that taillon won’t be an innings eater for the yanks abs they need an innings eater since their bullpen before the 8th inning is questionable at best. And atleast I am showing I am doing research and have something to back up my argument . What have you shown to back up yours ?

Here is another interesting article . The number 1 pitchers friendly ball park is pnc park , home to the pirates . Meanwhille if taillon were to be traded to the Yankees , he would go to a division where most of his starts would be is parks that are not very pitchers friendly like Fenway , yankee stadium , Camden yards and Tropicana field . Tell me how that wouldn’t be tougher for taillon to pitch in ? Can it now be seen why I said taillon isn’t proven in the AL?
again your using data from 6yrs ago, u may not have watched a game since then but analytics and the way the game is played has changed some in the last 6yrs.
Its great your doing your research to back up your opinions but i would suggest a better website and much more current data if you are going to use article to try to help lend weight to your position.
U keep insisting that Taillon would be a waste and a bad fit but what you keep ignoring is the Yanks need cheap option with high upside if they workout. They wouldn't be bring him in as a guaranteed TORP, they would be taking a realitively low risk cost wise and hoping that his talent and stuff come back. He alone isn't anywhere close to enough to fix the rotation but he's got a ton of upside and if he hits he could be a massive addition. You aren't going to get someone of his talent level, with minimal risk for 2.5m and a blocked, very flawed prospect
Your statement was that the AL is a much tougher league to pitch in compared to the NL and i have yet to see resent data from a reliable source that supports your claims of that statement being fact. Yes the AL has the DH but there are alot of very good lineups in the NL
Here's a fact, no one knows how Taillon would do pitching in the AL East because he's never pitched for a team in that division. While he absolutely could get hurt again you can say that about most any pitcher, especially the other one's that we are rumored to be interested in. You seem to fail to grasp low risk/ high reward acquisitions. Taillon is also a heavy ground ball pitcher because of his sinker so he hasn't been extremely HR prone so the parks he would be pitching in wouldn't be nearly as big of a factor if he were a fly ball pitcher
You say potato some say l;kgnef;luaoivlkhn;hgkjvef.
You say fact some say no no no no no no no no no lalalalalalalal
(Then they fact and follow it with I'm right, I'm right, I'm right, I'm right. Even when you show with actual fact and proof they are incorrect , they wriggle an squirm and say you twisted their words and they really mean anything that they can attach to a sliver of a piece of truth)
