Some writers are not that good at their job. Not to say Lindor isn't an upgrade over Torres but how many 40 homer second baseman exist around baseball?

The Yankees certainly had the assets to get Lindor but they are obviously worried about dollars and cents, especially because of how much LeMahieu might cost them.

Torres is not a 40 homer second baseman either . Most he hit was 38 and that was during the season where anyone with a bat was hitting 20 hrs

Splitting hairs are we? Torres is 24 years old. Most players don't hit their primes till 27 years old. The ceiling is there for Torres to be maybe the best offensive 2nd baseman in the game. He's not a guy who should be talked about in the same ilk as some high ceiling prospect. You're undervaluing Torre's ability.

Not to mention that wasn't the price tag for Lindor.

How many seasons has Torres played? I'll tell you, 2.25! His rookie year he hit 24 the following year 38. Is it hard to imagine in another full season he might hit 40? Imo history is on his side.

So because he MIGHT hit 40hrs that makes him a 40 home run infielder ?last I checked labels are earned when someone actually does something not something he or she might do . I might win the lotto tomorrow so should I call everyone and say I am a lottery winner ?
Come on I know you hate me and all but your response makes absolutely no sense at all . And yes he may hit 40 hrs but as of now he isn’t a 40 hr hitting second baseman yet .

Saying he hasn’t hit 40 hrs is undervaluing him ? I never even said I would trade him . And I wouldn’t since he atleast has proven himself well in the majors . I know his value is great no one needs to tell me that

No I am saying you are splitting hairs because 38 home runs is not 40 home runs. Well its a lot closer to 40 homers than it is 30 and the dude is still only 24 years old. There is room for more offense there. I don't know what you are arguing then.

The article pointing to the fact that Torres is equitable or along the lines of a high ceiling prospect isn't correct at all.

No, the real question is who is Lindor's agent? Because if it's that Boras guy... He WILL be testing the market... and if he don't, it's because the Mets would have offered him a deal that makes the rest of the GM's in baseball reach for their case of Tums... as they all groan collectively..

Anyone else and it'll be hard to tell..
