Why can’t we ever have a stable of no question marks? Or if we have any it is only 2/5 instead of 4/5 of the rotation.
It seems that Cashman likes to gamble that the talent stays healthy. It is always after a big signing as well or when the payroll gets too high.
What is scary is our young core of 2017 are already starting to break the bank or will very soon. Tipping the tax line with no long term contacts with the young core is not a good sign. Judge is about all I see them keeping when the time comes for a long term contract. And even he is a question mark because of his injury concern.
The window is closing on this group folks. Unless the farm is about to sprout some more major league ready talent soon all I just see is seeing how far the can go with this current young core and then let them walk and then fill with a 33 yr old vet that is past his prime.
Not a good future as I currently see it.

I think the window for Jude/Sanchez/Hicks is closing. I fully agree.
Where we differ, is that I believe the farm is sprouting and there will soon be some very, good young players who are ready to be on the field at YS.
The issue with that is, where will they play? Luckily many are pitchers so that bodes well. The position players are a couple few years away so there should be time for space to open up and give some a shot.
Thankfully, the hicks deal is only 10 per. So he could be moved but for ****'s sake, I never understood the 7 years. He's signed till he's 36? Stanton till he's 38? DJ till he's 39? (That one is fine as I think he will be good for the duration).

This is not a young lineup. This lineup will be an old one in two years. That is their window.
My fear and annoyance is the lack of flexibility for this team. Cashman has put together a very limited team. Now rumors of Ozuna (30) and Puig (30)?
That means Cashman is considering trading young talent for Tallion and replacing them with replicas of Stanton?

They are on a 2 year window to hit it. If not then by 2023 this roster will be very different with regards to a core. According to a former HOF catcher Gary Sanchez is just going through the motions. He has lost that drive to get better. He can’t seem to put things away that are in his rear view mirror. He is
still moaning about the benching in the playoffs. I’d see where is in Spring Training and if he is on the upslope then trade him immediately and get some value back.
Judge, can he play 90% of the season? And healthy? Players of this generation don’t play hurt and the excuse is already given to them with the gotta protect the player BS. He needs to be a force, case closed!
Torres, love DJ but he actually has stunted the growth of Torres. He should have been our 2b for 10-12 years. When he plays SS I believe he tries to focus on defense and his hitting sufferers. Love DJ but move Voit out and put Torres back to 2b and sign Didi for a couple of stop gap seasons. No Lindor now so move on.
Sevy, I’m going to go pretty far on this one. I’m putting him in the Brian Taylor category.
He will obviously return but I feel his command AS A STARTER will be like what we saw after Taylor came back with his injury in the 1993 season. It won’t be as bad as medicine is better now but I feel he will be just a 1 inning guy now.
Hicks, on a good contract so we have to keep him for now. Another Judge, great talent but injuries always seem to win.
I’m ready for a reset with regards to a core. We are the Yankees so they can afford to wait a little. But if I was Hal I’d trade the you g core to bolster the farm with major league ready talent like the Rays do but they have actually waited a little too long as their salaries are already getting too high for that good value in return. Injuries hurt their value along with their rising salaries.
So we gotta run through it’s course and see where we end up after going through the rough rapids and hopefully we settle in a nice calm stream.
