First of all I never claimed carrasco was so much better than Tanaka , I only claimed that Tanaka is not better than carrasco . Second if you want to compare war then do it from 2014 on since Tanaka was not in the majors before then . So , since 2014 , carrasco has had 5 seasons of 3 war or higher while tanaka has had three . Third , Since 2014 carrasco has had 2 seasons with less than 2 war while Tanaka has had 3 .
And the last sub 2 war season carrasco had was when he had cancer . And lastly RIGHT NOW , carrasco can still be a torp . After the last two seasons that is doubtful with Tanaka . Don’t get me wrong Tanaka is still very good , probably one of the better pitchers out there but he is not a torp right now . He couldn’t even be a #2 the last two seasons

I think Tanaka, when healthy can be considered a torp. I am beginning to worry about his elbow. He's gotten a ton of mileage out of the PRP tx, time may have run out.

I am thinking at best he might be a low tier number 2 starter . But I think there is a possibility that his best years could be behind him . And when I made my claim I was talking about right now not career wise but if you go by what they both did from 2014 on , the edge still goes to carrasco .

I'd take Lindor off the wish list. Mets will offer $300+M extension. He would be dumb to pass unless he's not interested in being in NY.

The real question we should be asking ourselves is does this mean that Thor might not receive and extension and be available next offseason in FA.

Carrasco is definitely not a TORP. More like a #3. I'd call him and Tanaka even from a quality perspective. Also, I'd say even from a health risk perspective (cancer v. elbow). However, Carrasco would have given us a veteran starter and rotation upgrade. More than acceptable for the opportunity to lock down generational talent at a position of need like Lindor.

Nothing to brag about to be honest . Especially Sanchez , twice as many strike outs as andujar in less games . In fact those numbers are pretty bad considering the level of pitching they faced there

Maybe he was in the past. Now he's a 34 year old recent cancer survivor that rarely goes more than 5 innings. That's not a #2.

Look at last season , his first season back from cancer and he pitched 89 innings to a sub 3 era . That’s looks like is good #2 to me

I see 68 innings in 12 starts. 5.5 innings a start is not a TORP to me. Its a 3. And my guess is that he would tire over the course of a season and the ERA would increase and innings per start only decrease.
