Bring Sir Did back for short stop. He had fire and was a clutch lefty bat. Move Torres back to second. And keep DJ at either first or third and trade either Voit or Ursela. Preferably Voit is traded as Ursela plays great D. But you go for the best deal. Ursela, Didi, Torres, DJ with Andujar getting time as bavk up at 1st,, 3rd, and DJ sounds ok, if Voit gets you a good return. If not Did, Yankees need to get quality left bats, and hitters who can hit well with two strike counts and with RISP. That should be the key. For me no one should be untouchable on the roster except for Cole, they need to move the needle, light a fire, stir the drink. They need to find a few players who will be catalysts for a revived approach at the plate. While hoping to get one more pitcher or develop Schmidt and Garcia. I wonder what Voit and or Ursela can get us.

I wouldn’t bring didi back it’s not like they won anything in the playoffs with him . I would give torres one more chance at SS . I mean Gary has been given 3 years at catching and he won’t go anywhere

Gio is a top 5 3rd baseman, cheap, plays incredible D, hits for a high avg, has multiple yr of very cheap control left and will make less than 2m next yr. IMO he's the exact kinda play you keep, not trade. If they were able to get a solid return from Voit and move DJ to first, i'd be all for it

Have to give to get. It would suck, but I would do it depending on the trade value. You can always start Andujar and sub him out for defense with a good bench player. Depends on the deals we can make.

In an ideal world I would move Voit to DH, DJ if we resign him to 1B, Gleyber back at 2B and we sign Didi back or trade for Lindor at SS.

But that's a lot of movement for just 1 player.

Also I would consider moving Stanton this offseason, I know he has a NTC but maybe if he can move to another winner like LA, SD or the Angels he wouldn't say no.

Anyway the focus this offseason should be 3 SP and 2 to 3 bullpen arms. Pitching.

LA has no room on roster. Angels aren’t going to spend on another star that’s not a pitcher. SD is an interesting spot, but the need there is pitching and I don’t see them open to adding the payroll.

If a player doesn’t have enough desire to win and needs to be pushed to do well and win . They truly are not a very good player imo

I was thinking more of a contract to contract trade. with prospects as a fill-in depeding on the value on the contract we are talking about.

Let's not forget the NL will have the DH fulltime probably next year. And that opens up a roster spot for a lot of teams.

I can see teams being interested in Sanchez for a dh role if that happens

There are certainly teams that would make sense, but they are all small market teams. Brewers, Cards, Mets, etc. But, his cost is high for a DH and his no trade clause complicates things. No way he accepts a trade to any of those teams.

Exactly , play the hand that you stuck with at the deadline .

I would have used Tanaka in game 2 and then Garcia in game 3 followed by Monty in game 4
