We'll boys it the off season, again. Cashman has alot of work this winter with potentially losing Tanaka, Paxton and Happ. How much BP help do we need?
Priority one has to be resign DJ
Would you guys mess with the lineup? who goes, who stays and who do we try and acquire
I know what cashman is gonna do . He will resign Tanaka , possibly bring back paxton because of his love of injury prone players , then bring back DJ and then trade for a reliever and call it an off season.
What I want them to do is rebuild the starting rotation around cole , get a good reliever , get rid of Sanchez and sign realmuto and then resign dj . But I know that won’t happen
resign dj get rid of gary either judge and stanton has to go along with voit this all or nothing lineup will never win you anything.. sign brantley.. get a star pitcher get some bullpen help make britton the closer.. chapman has lost the last 2 elimination games for the yanks..if the same lineup comes back i will not watch this team next year
They are stuck with Chapman but they can get rid of the guy who caught him when he blew it these last two seasonsQuote:

Failure to work counts deep (thereby forcing opposing pitchers to play on your terms as opposed to dictating them)--check.
Getting bushwhacked yet again by a compromised pitcher (I mean Glasnow just did 3 innings on 2 days rest one year after a season ending injury)--check
According any sort of relevance to a bunch of dorito swilling, neckbeard geeks that dictate your gameplan -- check
Failure to capitalize on offensive opportunities with inconsistent, aggressive overswinging (or in Stanton's case, non-swinging) -- check
Systemic organizational failure from the top down to engender anything that bears any sort of semblance to heart -- check.
We might as well be discussing Paul Byrd shutting us down 15 years ago because we've learned nothing as an organization in pressure games since then.
Wash, rinse, repeat. :yawn:
And please.........don't worry.........Boone and Cashman will get plenty more opportunities to further tarnish this once proud organization as no one here is ever truly held to account. :cheers:

C. Move Torres back to 2B. He doesn't have the arm or quickness for SS. Move assets and go all in on Lindor.
OUTFIELD:
A. Gardy's gone and Frazier finally gets his moment to shine.
B. Move Judge and let Stanton play RF. These two guys can't be on the same team. Injury prone. Strike out prone. Not expected to age well. I'd certainly try to move Stanton first, but I think that's going to be impossible. His contract, injury history and no trade clause are just too restrictive.
STARTING PITCHING:
A. Sign Bauer. He's the best on the market and a legit top of the rotation guy. I know Cole hates the guy, but he's just going to have to accept it to win.
B. I'd be okay with rounding the rotation out with some combination of Monty, German, Deivi, King, or Schmidt until Sevy comes back in the second half.
BULLPEN:
A. Ottovino needs to be moved and replaced with a new high leverage righty. He just walks too many guys and can't be trusted when it counts.
B. We need 2 hard throwing guys that can consistently pitch multiple inning to go along with Green. Kaynle won't be back next year.
C. I'd be fine with filling the remaining two low leverage spots with some combination of King, Cessa, Loggy, Holder, Heller, etc. Guys with options.
Brantley is definitely the type of hitter we need. But, at 34 next year and coming from the Astros, I'm hesitant. I'm okay with Frazier in LF. Maybe he'd be willing to DH with a part time OF role?
Even better, maybe we can get a hitting coach that teaches these guys situational hitting and how to slap the outside breaking ball to the opposite field?
Agreed with everything said here . The window is closing quickly on the Yankees to win a ws and if drastic moves aren’t made I fear the window will close for a long time . But unfortunately I don’t have the faith in the front office to do such moves and therefore wouldn’t be surprised if this team misses the playoffs in a couple years .Quote:

He has now pitched three consecutive sub-5 inning starts in clutch October games going back to last year’s Minnesota stop where the old Tanaka was needed most and utterly failed to materialize. You mentioned Brantley above. Think of that type of talent in a starting pitching role.
3) Sign/acquire Hader immediately. Need a new version of Miller/Dellin to ease the quantitative burden on Chapstick and Britton. I’d even entertain using him in the 9th in these high leverage, must-have games where Chapman has failed two years in a row.
4) seriously explore Lindor. A high contact/high production talent akin to what we have in DJ and potentially have in Torres who can field his position and allows you to return Torres to his more comfortable position. Use the above mentioned ‘deadpool’ of surplus talent to put together a SERIOUS package and not some typical Cashman half-arsed attempt to appear cute and svelte.
5) resign/lockup DJ immediately
6) unload Ottovino. Experiment failed.
7) rotation: Cole, Bauer, #3, Deivi, Monty
8) bullpen: Greene, Kahnle, Severino as your mid-stopper crew. Britton, Hader, Chapman as your power late innings crew.
9) fire Boone before the plane leaves San Diego
10) fire Cashman before the end of the World Series before negotiations begin.
Just fire Boone and replace him with Buck! And let HIM manage, not goddamn analytics. It obviously doesn’t work. Look at Billy Beane and now Cashman. They have like over 30 postseason teams combined and only 1 WS win.
I’m telling that is all we need with this roster is a real manager.
Not a puppet who makes $1 million per.
Getting Boone was all about money. Well, how is that working out Cashman?
