If he fully returns, which there is no reason he won't and provided his shoulder issue was truly a minor issue and rooted in the elbow issue, he absolutely has the physical stuff to be an ace. He's yet to show the mental aspect.. He looks the part. He looks like he has the killer instinct when he gets into a tight spot but the he'd and the body go different directions.
If he can get his head right, he will be a TORP guy for sure and he and Cole will be a very nice 1-2 punch.
What limited intellect, manure farmers often fail to understand is simple language and word definitions. They fail to comprehend the word upgrade. They fail to comprehend that even in a season when a pitcher has limitations, he can still be an improvement and upgrade to the rotation and in it. He can still be a better pitcher than the ones previously or currently there.
They also don't really understand the word "prove" or "fact". It's easy to ignore those definitions when you live like a coward.
Both Sevy and German, if they pitch to ability, are upgrades to the rotation behind Cole. (That should really confuse them. How can two guys be behind Cole? My goodness, the brain must be melting)
Even if German and or Sevy pitch 80-90 innings, if they pitches better than who was there, its is by definition and upgrade to the rotation.
Will there contribution be greater than Pax, Happ, Monty, Lasanga, King...? If they pitch to ability, absolutely. If they don't? We don't know. It could still be an upgrade and it may not be one.
NJ.com | Randy Miller: Bob Nightengale is reporting that DJ LeMahieu is asking for five years at $100 million, while the Yankees have offered four years at $75 million
i would not give the 33 year old next year dj a 5 year deal... under any circumstance.. 3 years would be ideal.. eve at 20 million..a year..
[QUOTE=johnny ny;33738842]even with a healthy sevy and german are the yanks good enough to win it all next year.. not a chance.. can they make it to the world series 50/50 but winning it all the only thing that matters...and besides the yanks starting staff is just but 1 of the 3 issues the yanks have.can the yanks lineup make contact and score runs in close games without the long ball in the playoffs.. the answer is no...also the bullpen has been shaky and is getting older.. can u trust green or chapman in the playoffs the answer would be no.. chapman has lost the last game in the playoffs 2 years in a row for the yanks...
