Yeah, ONE championship in 32 years. Just doesn't get any better than that. LMAO!!!!

Well other than bringing back Tanaka or Paxton and getting a reliever , I don’t expect the yanks to do much this off season . And the longer dj is a free agent , the less likely it is the yanks resign him . Even if they bring back dj too , and bring back both Tanaka and Paxton , this is the same team that only made the playoffs this season because half the league made the playoffs .
You mean 5 in the last 32[/QUOTE)
Whoops, you are correct; still, I think that 5 in 32 is a bit better than 1 in 32, don't you?
I agree that I'm not sure the Yanks will win "another championship anytime soon." And with 10 (or 12 or 14 or 16) teams making the playoff each year, I don't think fans of any of the other 29 teams should be sure that their team will win a championship "anytime soon". Back in the 40s-60s, if you finished first to win the pennant, you played in a 7-game WS so you had a 50-50 chance of being the World Champions. Now with 10 or more teams playing in 4 rounds (of varying lengths), its a crapshoot. Before the playoffs started this year, I saw the Vegas odds of each of the 16 playoff teams winning the WS; the Dodgers had the best odds of winning and their chances of winning were, I believe, something like 14%, meaning there was an 86% chance that one of the other 15 teams would win.Sure of winning, no, I don't think any fan of any team should be!
2021 Yankees ZiPS projections:
Gerrit Cole - 5.1 WAR
Gleyber Torres - 4.4 WAR
Aaron Judge - 4.3 WAR
Giancarlo Stanton - 3.2 WAR
If Abreau stay with this team, i think his role will be as a multi inning reliever, similiar to this outing. The stuff especially the FB & CB is Plus, Plus, he's just struggled with his consistency and getting through a lineup multiple times. That huge FB he already has, been clocked over 100 man, many times, could play up even bigger in shorter outings and he has a plus, plus out pitch.
We have to start developing better BP arms than we have been the last few yrs. With the kinda elite arm talent we have in the system we should be able to put atleast 1-2 solid relievers in the BP every yr.
We have all the arm talent for the rotation and BP we could really hope for with where we always draft. I can't blame Blake for last yr because of who crazy the season was but Blake and our new director of pitching development, Sam Briend, really need to show they can start taking huge talent and develop that talent into quality MLB pitching. If we could develop some solid pitching for either the BP or rotation it would go along way to giving us more financially flexible. I love having an elite BP but IMO they need to do a better job developing those elite relievers like Betance was, instead of having to pay huge money our top 4-5 BP arms. Chapman, Britton, Green, Otto and Kahnle ate up a significant amount of our payroll.
Hopefully we will see guys like Abreau, Nelson and later in the season Gil/Medina/ Vizciano/Stephan, can play a biig role next yr
I wonder how many games they project for Judge and Stanton. If those numbers are based to them playing 135 games plus, IMO they are on the low side
