Lindor is high on the wish list and they have checked in on Morton and Garret Richards. Richards can't stay healthy and is basically a backend starter. He makes zero sense to me

completely agree. 1 area i would like to see the Yanks dumpster dive is on the failed starter market and try to turn them into high end relievers. This yr i think the market is going to be ripe for those kind of opportunities. I think a guy like Aaron Sanchez who has 2 great pitches but struggles with his 3rd, 4th pitches and going deep into games would be the perfect guy to try that on. High velo, high spin FB with a high spin breaking pitch like he has would be perfect for the pen. He's coming off a bad 19 and an injury so in this market i think there is a chance you could get a guy like that on a MILB deal.

If we could get guys like Sanchez on MILB deals, I’d hand them out like candy on Halloween.

Your other post gives me hope. Lindor, Morton, DJ and a few pen pieces and it’s an extremely successful offseason. I’d like to get greedy and trade Gary and sign McCann cheap cheap

I'm sure the yankees didn't pick up Hand for 10 million because they want him on a multi year deal worth 32 million over 2 years and are currently figuring how he can fit into their budget.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that cashman would be looking at those two . He ALWAYS goes after starting pitchers like that because he always looks for the low risk high rewards deals . Been like that for over 15 years now

Richards made the huge mistake to opt out of TJ surgery to do PRP. It sort of worked, then he had to go on the DL and had to have the surgery anyway. That decision cost him a lot of time, hence all the seasons. He's not a paxton, who goes on the DL with one random injury after another. Richards has some of the best stuff in majors, by a mile and is someone who could potentially become a gerrit cole, with the right coach. I'd have zero problems with the yankees picking him up for one year, at the right price.

I would give him a one year deal instead of paxton . Just wouldn’t expect a whole lot from him

1. Trade Judge for Woodruff and Hader (via a an concept suggested in an article). I think you would probably have to add some pieces so let’s say Ottavino and a minor league pitching prospect.

2. Sign Hand

3. Sign DJ for 1B

4. Trade for Lindor. Package includes Voit, Schmidt, Peraza and a pitching prospect

5. DFA Cessa to save money.

Starting rotation:
1. Cole
2. Woodruff
3. Deivi/Sevy
4. Monty
5. German

Bullpen:
1. Chapman
2. Britton
3. Hader
4. Hand
6. Green
7. King/Loggy/Heller/Holder/German

Line-up:
1. Lindor ss
2. Torres 2b
3. DJ 1b
4. Stanton rf
5. Frazier. lf
6. Andujar dh (start giving him of reps too and see if it sticks)
7. Urshella
8. Higgy/Sanchez
9. Hicks

Subs:
1. Higgy/Sanchez
2. Wade
3. Tauchman
4. Ford

Starting pitching would still be a little light. But, bullpen should make up for it, especially in the playoffs. If Sevy comes back to form, that’s a strong 1-3 for the playoffs.

Sorry but I dont think German should automatically be given a rotation spot . He has done nothing to deserve that spot right now . He should start the season in the minors

I agree. If you had read my previous posts I said the same more than once. I have advocated for DJ to man 2B permanently and stop moving him around the infield, particularly 1B. As he ages it's an option but not at this juncture.

Pretty sad state of affairs when a 37 yr old pitcher is at the top of Yanks wish list. :facepalm:

I like the idea of Hader and Hand, beefing up the pen makes complete sense. Not so sure on Woodruff. I believe (hope, wish, fantasize?) Sevy and German will be big contributors, maybe more so than many are willing to admit.

I can see the Lindor deal happening if they agree to an extension. As has been mentioned previously Hal and Cash DO NOT take kindly paying twice for talent.
