Another rumor that has been suggested Andujar and Schmidt for Trevor Story.
This is another one that make little sense to me, if they are going to go after one of the SS from the 21 class it should be Lindor. Its not like he would cost much more than Andujar and Schmidt but he's a much better fit with his personality and overall game. Plus he might really like playing next to his best friend everyday
Also to consider, why not wait until next season and it's only money not talent.Quote:

We have a whole lot of specs that are blocked and Andujar really doesn't have a place on this team. IMO, with the excess specs we have because they are blocked or don't have places to play, use them to get the best SS in the class that we are already planning on pursuing. Another huge factor for Lindor is he's plays almost every game and if they decide to move on from Judge, Lindor could easily take over as the face of the franchise. I don't think any of the other SS that are going to be available next winter have the capability, personality and talent combo it takes to be the face of a franchise.
I just see Lindor as to good to pass on and it would suck to see him end up with the Mets or especially the Jays. Even if their only big move is to trade for Lindor, IMO it is the best long term move we could make this off season

Brian Cashman gives DJ LeMahieu update, says Yankees will likely have highest payroll in MLB

So the luxury tax threshold doesn’t appear to be the cutoff for Cashman, as he navigates the free agency and trade waters. And it also indicates that there is more to shell out to LeMahieu if need be to get the deed done. The Yankees were already close to the luxury tax threshold to begin with, as contracts like Gerrit Cole’s and Giancarlo Stanton’s already bring the payroll past $60 million.

Yankees sign former Reds pitcher Matt Bowman to two-year minor league deal: report
The Yankees have signed RHP Matt Bowman to a minor-league deal, Cincinnati Enquirer's Bobby Nightengale reported Monday night.
Bowman last pitched for the Cincinnati Reds in 2019 before undergoing Tommy John surgery this past September. He previously spent three seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals.
For his career, Bowman has a 4.02 ERA and a 7-13 record over the course of 183 games played. He's struck out 149 batters and walked 62 in 181.1 innings on the mound.
If Bowman is able to appear for the Yankees in the big leagues during 2021 or 2022, his contract is set to be worth $900,000.

thanks for that spliff, I really didn't realize how close Lindor and story were overall. I still prefer Lindor's bat because he is a SW and K's much less Lindors k rate % is only 14.8 vs Story 25.8 %.Quote:

Seager would be an interesting option, especially because he's LHed, that said i'm not sure why he would leave LA.
Correa doesn't play more than a 110 games, we don't need another talented injury prone players
completely depend on what he is looking for deal wise. I'd give him 1yr4m with heavy incentives for performance or if he hasn't signed closer to ST an MILB deal which i don't think is a huge stretch for him based on performance and age.Quote:

give gary a month if he starts off the season as horrendous as last year bench him...then get rid of him..
