Regarding restaurants i said staffs should represent the general population. Specifically, it's bad business if staffs are all white. I made exceptions for restaurants like hooters being all women waitresses and extended that to ethnic specific restaurants. Again, this is you believing you know how a conservative thinks. In this case, it's not true.
Maybe i grew up in a different era than you. The first time i remember hearing the word, it came from my dad's black friend. He was a coworker but every so often he'd stop and hangout with my dad. We'd sit on our porch and he'd comment "look at these *******. They have no respect." I was probably 10 or 11 so i had so idea what he meant. It was literally every other word though. My friends had no issue with it either. NWA was big when i was in high school. My friends would discuss them and sing their lyrics all the time.
It's funny to me that you call it overt racism. We are still talking about the same thing right?
That's not what you said lol nor do I think that's how all conservatives think. Why would it be a point of argument that its bad business practice that all staff would be white btw? Duh. Oh wait, because you didn't say that. Nice try turning it around though. You specifically brought up the point that people would be turned off from patronizing a restaurant if the food wasn't native to the people making and serving it.
Do you think that's how most black men refer to other black men? Do you think the intent is to disparage their own?
Yes because in many cases that's how the n-word is used when other races use it.
So here i am advocating for the use of saying ****** in general conversation but I'm going to lie about my position on restaurant staff? Makes sense. I have never said anything regarding people not feeling comfortable about food that wasn't served by those who weren't native to the food serving it. Please quote me where i said that. This is ridiculous.
I don't know how most black men refer to other black men. Im guessing it's not in a derogatory way as he often did. But that's my point, black people are not some monolith controlled by liberal beliefs. I'm sure there's black men who don't use that word. I'm sure there's others who use the other version. I'm sure there's some offended by it in general conversation and others who don't care. Go figure. Black people are just as diverse in their thought process as white people.
oh speaking of Critical Race Theory, I didn't know where to post this but, now that you brought this up I figured I would mention it.
So Iowa Gov Kim Reynolds signed a law banning Critical Race Theory in Iowa schools. a Local school board voted 5-2 to allow a curriculum called "Wit and Wisdom" which " includes lessons on many aspects of American history including segregation and racism." so basically they voted to allow Criticial Race Theory without it being called Critical Race Theory lol
Well the basic topic would seem to allow for the discussion. But if it’s a problem, I’m happy to be like Eminem and ignore the powers that be and do what I please.
It was so blatantly bigoted it was hard to forget. You definitely said it.
And I think that's a real convenient cover for neutralizing a word. Its okay because black people use it so why not everyone else? That should be relatively self explanatory. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know the connotation in which black people use it amongst their own.
