I don't think anyone should be punched in the face for any reason, especially something as insignificant as race. But i also realize that's not reality. People are inherently mean to each other for a variety of reasons. It's not fair that people use race this way. It's stupid. But i also realize if they didn't use race, they wouid use some other reason. However, by always pointing to racism, we make it really easy.

I've never suggested ignoring racism. First, we need to all agree on an objective definition of racism. In the 1960s, we passed civiI rights laws to help stop racism. It didn't completely stop it but we all agreed to that objective definition. Then MLK said "don't judge people by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." This actually began to happen, not only towards black people but also towards white people. For a period, racism was about content and context. Call a black person a ****** in
derogatory way and you're a racist piece of **** and rightfully so. But we applied context to that word. Black people arent stupid. They know when someone is being racist/mean/derogatory towards them. Furthermore, the person being racist/mean wants their intentions to be known. In that case, there's no difference between the word ****** and some other made up word. At least with ****** we know the intentions of the user in this case. However, as time progresses, context wasn't good enough.

Furthermore, while you say you don't want to ignore racism, the left are the ones who want to subjectively apply who is racist and who is not. You want to ignore some racism and heavily apply the term to others. This typically depends on where they fall politically. That's why Joe Biden can say the word ****** on the senate floor and he gets a pass but joe Rogan says it on a podcast and he should be canceled. Thats why Whoopi Goldberg gets a 2 week suspension for being blatantly racist but Rosanne barr gets canceled. Liberals don't want to focus on racism to help black people. Liberals want to subjectively apply it to those they disagree with and ignore it otherwise. Liberals have made racism a joke to where most of the country now no longer takes it seriously.

At its core, all Whoopi Goldberg really did was point out the difference between a race, ethnicity, and religion; three separate concepts. She did it in a haphazard and clumsy AF way though. I don't believe you can isolate all Jewish people into one race. There are plenty of people who are Caucasian, Arabic, and even black that are Jewish. It can be described as an ethnicity and also people who are from Israel. It is also a religion and there are people who are non-practicing or secular and are Jewish.

It depends on the area. Also, a violent altercation is more likely to lead to serious injury if you aren't prepared. A more accurate metaphor would be it's like crossing a busy highway on foot and hoping a car doesn't hit you.
