Stop trying to put me in a box based on the beliefs you think i have. I've never advocated for calling black people ******. That's obviously offensive and wrong. I'm not even advocating using the word as a term of friendship like many black people have begun doing. My point is there's no difference in general conversation between saying ****** and saying the n-word. Context matters. People's demeanor and overall personality matter.Quote:

But there clearly is. This isn't even restricted to the n-word. Many people in the south say "shut the front door" instead of shut the **** up because it's less offensive. People who answer those type of polls are motivated to answer those types of polls. In my experience, black people, like most people, are just trying to get through life, living from paycheck to paycheck. They don't have the time or the care how some suburban white dude speaks.
Im not sure how this rumor started that i avoid black people but it's simply not true. Ewing made an off-handed comment about it and i responded about living in Iowa. That being said, i live right next to omaha and spend most of my time outside the house there. While a small city, omaha is very diverse. Not like it matters but one of gfs good friends, a former coworker, is a black lesbian. My daughter lives across the country in VA with her mom but one of her best friends is black. We took the girl on vacation with us and went on vacation together with her family. I think i mentioned this before but i do dialysis. While i do it at home now, when i restarted dialysis in the beginning of 2020, i did it at a clinic in omaha. I'd say at least two-thirds of technicians were black women. So not only did i not avoid them, i trusted them to stick to giant needles in my arm so i can get my life-saving treatment.Quote:

For sure. I wasn't trying to suggest all people in the midwest are incapable of understanding racism or why the n-word is unacceptable. I question Joey's experience with people of different colors because maybe he's spent too much time living in white suburbia. I avoid dangerous neighborhoods if I'm with my daughter. In 2018, i took my daughter and her friend to the beach in NJ. On the way, we drove through my old neighborhood in PA so i could show my daughter and her friend where i grew up. Her friend commented that it looked like a war zone. Other than that, there's no reason for me to drive through my old neighborhood, especially with my daughter. Why would i?Quote:
