Researchers sent thousands of resumes, some with white sounding names and some with black sounding names. Predictable results: the black sounding names got fewer callbacks and interviews. Some companies were far more discriminatory than others.
This is one of many studies that submit identical resumes with white/black sounding names. They all come back showing a negative bias against black sounding names.
To those that say systemic or societal racism doesn’t exist. Yes it does.
