Yes, they should be split differently, but as a guy who essentially runs a business, I would also consider physical damage to be if I lost product because I couldn't sell it (i.e food that spoiled.).

A guy who owns a business is concerned about lost sales and recovering his customer base after all the idiots are done.
What is never mentioned and is almost incalculable is lost future revenue and other adverse effects of these protesters.
I don't know how many of you have ever been to Seattle but it was a wonderful place. Beautiful city, a walking city (always love those) plenty of scenery, Piles Market, vibrant downtown, fantastic ferry service, opening to a lot of other areas in the Pacific NW.
But no more…a least for many years to come.
Conventions/trade shows are always looking for places to have their events. The best way to get people to come to these events is to have fun activities or different places to visit within the venue to help draw people. People will turn a convention visit into a vacation (company picks up the tab for travel and lodging). That is why Las Vegas and Orlando do so well with conventions/trade shows. Seattle provided something a little different. It was a livable city that not all that many people have been to and it was in a beautiful part of the country. (I've been there twice for conventions/trade shows. Tied one trip into 3-4 days driving up the Pacific Coast Hwy from LA, another was a trip north to Vancouver. Had a great time on both occasions.)
But never again.
Now Seattle doesn't really care that Sluggo will never go back. However, they do care when ten thousand Sluggos don't want to go back. And that's what is going to happen.
So add lost convention and visitor revenue onto that $23 million price tag.
Part 2…There are about a dozen Fortune 500 companies HQ'd in the Seattle area (For the record, Minneapolis has about 15 [that surprised me]). Think any other companies will move there??? Think any may move out??? Think any of the ones there are considering expansion??? Not with the reputation Seattle (and Portland) are showing. It takes years to overcome that.
So when you see these morons screaming and yelling in the street, bear in mind that there are hidden costs and future costs to all the spray painting and window breaking. Not that they care.

Term Limits
Two terms for Senators.
Two four terms for reps.
Many people don't even realize that the House and Senate have no term limits (or even what term limits are)
Prob is is that it would require a Constitutional Amendment.
Bold 2…it should be illegal to donate $$$$ to anyone you cannot vote for.
the problem with term limits is that the very people that would have to vote it in are the very people who don't want it
another is that even with term limits, unless it's also built in to prevent it, there'd still be musical chairs going on...two terms as a Senator, run for the House...two terms in the House, run for the Senate...or, as happens often now, lose reelection bid, become a lobbyist until you can run again
Similarly, what happens in states like mine where various positions like Sec of State are an elected position with a two term limit, as you're finishing your 2nd term you run for State Treasurer...two terms there you run for Sec of State again or State Auditor. We had basically the same 3 people in the same 3 positions, rotating every 8 years, for like 20 years until 'new blood' snuck in because one of those 3 ran for US House and had to give up her state position to do so.
and yes, it should be illegal to accept money from donors that are not constituents...policing that is another story
So you set a rule where you cannot run for the another house after you have help a position in the Sen or House. Problem solved.
With the House right now with two year terms…once you are elected, you are two years our from the next election. It becomes a constant re-election campaign. Lots of time wasted.
Bolded…policing campaign donations is difficult…until you catch a few and pose stiff penalties (heavily fined or kicked out of you position) Then it would stop.
As far as getting term limits going…it would take a few new outspoken reps to bring what it means to the attention of their constituents (again, most do not know what term limits are or they don't care) and keep talking it up. Just like the squad never shuts up. Keep talking up term limits until the public comes around. Just like the coming changes to the police departments (that I agree with), if enough people talk it up and keep it in the public view, it could happen.
The Equal Rights Amendment hasn't been passed (as it should have been) and most people don't even know it is out there. It was submitted to the states 50 years ago and few know about it.
It will take years for a term limits amendment to pass but it could be done if we can keep talking about it.
There is an extreme difference in how the Trump admin handled it; it has been far worse than before.
Yes, both are awful. But there is a difference between awful and much much worse.
Obama was using an existing system as it was, Trump did worse than that.

What is all this supposed to address? I was in seattle 4 days ago, first time there, amazing city. Downtown had lots of people everywhere. Everything was safely open and the streets were crowded.
Its wierd cuz I just left there thinking what an amazing city. But you're talking about it like something happened there?

Yeah Tacoma is not nearly as nice (though I will say they have made huge strides the past 5 years or so). As a native Oregonian, the rain wasn't too much for me, but yeah the traffic is horrible. They are expanding the lanes of I-5 through the Tacoma corridor, but that project has been going on for like 7 years so who knows when that will get done.
