Common sense would tell you that it probably falls in line with to a similar % of the general population who is unvaccinated and died from COVID. Some died before the vaccine was readily available though. Either way, I would assume a large portion of them were preventable.

We have plenty of statistics to show that vaccination rates among law enforcement are considerably lower than the larger population.

Not necessarily. But if it is similar, that means that roughly 100 were unvaccinated. That is not too dissimilar to the number that were killed in the line of duty, from other causes.

Iowa is relatively close to the median in vaccination rate, yet every police officer I know is fully vaccinated (the entire county sheriff department, including jailers, and the police officers that work for the various communities I work with.) That is over 50 police officers.

I can’t find Iowa specific information but we have clear evidence that police and correctional officers are among the lowest vaccinated in the country.

My evidence is strictly anecdotal, but I don't know any officers that are not vaccinated. Several guys from surrounding communities had Covid early in the pandemic and their cases were severe enough to make the officers realize that they don't want the virus.

Again you have to take into account those who were unvaccinated because there wasn't a readily available vaccine. I'd bet if all 300 of those cops were vaccinated, most of them would still be alive.

Well that would make their chances higher for sure but I can't see cops who are vaccinated being at much higher risk for death than the general population who is also vaccinated.
