I can only speak for myself…
I'm merely pointing out some of the silliness if what is going on.
And as far as America not agreeing with people like me…dream on.
How many people out there watching all the riots and looting (not to mention ceding part of a major American city) and silly demands that politicians are caving to will see that as something positive. No many. While everyone (dems, reps, libs, conservatives, blacks, whites, young, old) will agree the the George Floyd incident was horrific, that the police officer should be prosecuted and that major changes to policing are both needed and on the way…not as many as you would like to think agree with the aftermath…especially that it has been going on for weeks with no end in sight. Dem politicians look incredibly weak and may have lost more than they think they have gained.
I'm in no way suggesting they shouldn't make such changes...they should
But one problem they do have with this is the fact that, while mental health workers are trained to deal with those issues, they are NOT trained for the potential more aggressive situations they'd sometimes be walking into...so it would still require officers to be trained in those areas as well....just another way de-escalating techniques are so widely needed to be hammered into these officers.
I can agree with that and stand with you on it. But I am pretty sure they had dealt with more aggressive situations in their mental health profession and know-how to deal with it more so than your local cop and all without having a gun. They actually believe in gang tackling instead of standing back and firing a gun.
.
It is still about the riots? Haven't the riots died down in your area? The politicians aren't caving in to looters but the numerous massive protest that is pushing for change.
What has the democrat lost? Isn't Biden poll number growing into a bigger lead over Trump?
You're kidding with this, right????
OK, I'll try (as if this will work.)
You have the mayor of a major city ceding blocks of down town property (that she, personally does not own) to a collection of street people. (And before you say how wonderful this is, try considering the fact that some people actually own [that means bought with their own $$$] the property that the idiotic mayor ceded. So, yes, that is a sign of weakness.
Hundreds of rioters that have been legitametly arrested by the police for damages and/or other crimes have been released with the charges dropped by order of the various spineless mayors. That is a sign of weakness.
The DC mayor deciding on her own to paint graffiti on a major street, and creating a BLM plaza (again, on her own) as a sign of giving in to the BLM crowd is a sign of weakness
All of the mayors…Minneapolis, NYC, SF, LA, Seattle, Chicago, DC… etc al that have spinelessly shown no support of their police department is a huge sign of weakness.
Atl mayor firing the police officer (without getting the full story) that dragged two college students out of a car (and had to taze one) is a sign of weakness.
If you don't see any of this, I can't help you.
Most of America isn't dem. Nor rep.
There are a good deal of independents out there.
Any sane person out there would see dems giving in to the various street creatures floating around all these "demonstrations." People also see that all of these cities and many of these states are run by dems. They are not winning many votes.
Re Biden's "lead in the polls"…… several points
One debate and that lead is gone
He may not make it to that one debate or to election day
People will see that it is the dems tryimg to keep the country's economy down (many already see this)
A major event by Trump could easily swing massive voting blocks his way (pull out from Afghanistan, Major policy stance over China re: COVID, Covid cure [unlikely but possible], taking back Seattle's whatever zone etc.) something big will be happening.
Don't be too confident with the polls just yet. Right Hilly????
Typical Sluggo: he dehumanizes the protestors (creatures) and when asked about the specific problems he has the very first one he points out is financial in nature (the CHAZ zone’s impact on businesses).
Sluggo: money > people. Every time.
