You've obviously never read my posts or you're in "parrot fox news" mode.
I've said numerous times that racism is a matter of power and influence. If a black person had power and influence and then made decisions based on race to limit access to another race, then that's racism.
The reason racism is so easily thought of as a white on black thing is because......well, most of history and current events.
Racism could have been a factor in Tyre's killing. Its not difficult to believe that cops develop stereotypical attitudes towards people of their own race based on the interactions they have with certain communities on a daily basis. Many of which are confrontational and culminate from criminal behavior that is more prevalent in certain areas.
Police brutality and systemic racism dont always have to be connected. There are a significant amount of ******* cops out there who abuse their power irrespective of who they are dealing with. That happens when power goes unchecked and the protections of the blue wall extend so far. That said, police brutality doesnt exist in a vacuum and plenty of people take issue with it even if circumstances involve cops and individuals of the same race.
Kneeling is not just about systemic/institutional racism.

It’s ****ing ridiculous that you’re repeating posts that I and dozens of others have made here…like 10 years ago.
I appreciate the effort but some folks around here don’t care about facts or critical thinking if it goes against their stubborn and ignorant *** narrative.

I’m surprised nobody has pointed out that police forces and the prison industrial complex are pretty white supremacist in nature.
Cops being black doesn’t have much to do with it because at the end of the day if they’re going into the job with the perception of changing it from within…they’re naive. It’s a white system that is built on targeting minorities…to put it to bluntly. By going into the system, their race doesn’t really matter because they become a part of the system that upholds racist values

Jason Whitlock blames Nichols’ death on single black mothers and blames Memphis’ Officer’s actions on having a black woman as their Police Commissioner.
Like Valade said, listen to "**** the Police" by NWA or "Power" by Rapsody and Kendrick Lamar. Black people are well aware of the violence perpetrated by black officers on those of their own race. Racism, abuse of power, the blue wall, are all things that contribute to those actions.
This goes to nyyfans post too but I’ve told the stories here before, how I’ve had cops point guns at me - twice, been stopped and frisked, and my trouble at police stations over $10 worth of weed. I also had a lot of conservative posters call me a lying ***** so I don’t truly expect them to understand.
We’re all going to have different perceptions based off of how we were treated.

Yes
And humans are also capable of empathy. Especially when watching videos of other human beings getting brutally beaten and murdered (none of which can be found in a police training manual).
But when you have that stockholm syndrome-esque thing that republicans have, then you need to "stick to your side" no matter what.
Because more often than not, we’re dealing with people who are incapable of empathy and putting themselves in someone else’s shoes.
I remember in a college class back in…2018 (2019?) I remember having an interesting conversation. I was saying how a lot of old school conservative ideals and the hateful ideologies were on its way out. I was met with an outburst and it caused a lot of murmuring. I told the class to listen and to hear me out, and they did.
I said something along the lines of “when an ideology is threatened or on its way out, it suddenly becomes more prominent from the vocal minority who is fighting tooth and nail to preserve the ideals”
and that’s sort of what I think is happening and has continued to happen. these conservatives are insecure and fearful that their tactics and ideals are being pushed away and as a result, they take such extreme measures and throw logic out of the window in favor of party allegiance, because the party is turning into a **** show and they know that solidarity is the only thing keeping them together. It’s why so many GOPers won’t go against party lines and are turning blind eyes to George Santos and Matt Gatez and MGT. They all know they’re wrong but they can’t afford to ostracize anybody else at this point.
This is what I think guys like brewers, dbroncs, and Brett do. They realize that their ideals are outdated but they don’t care about their retort due to the insecurity and fear that they won’t be able to adapt to change.
It's really too bad that Special is no longer around. If he was, you can guarantee that he'd be digging up and sharing anything negative he could find on the gentlemen that was beaten to death by the cops.
Would still love to know who here defended the cops actions in here

This is true. For example, if you don't want a cop to start shooting at you suddenly, you shouldn't be sitting in your car in the parking lot of McDonald's, eating food you bought from McDonald's.
It's his own fault, really.
Okay. Let me put myself in the shoes of the cops who murdered Garner, Floyd, Breonna Taylor, or Nichols.
Were any of these people shooting at police? Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend was…after they illegally entered their home.
I will run mental circles around you and it won’t mean a thing. The majority of us are working on Point V or W while you’re still at Point A, completely oblivious and ignorant to everything else being said and is just parroting the same points, regardless of the rebuttal.
