It’s been 30 years since Rodney king and hundreds of instances of racism and abuse of power by police since then. Still we don’t have a national standard.

You guys demanded an end to kneeling during the anthem. They were called unamerican. Trivialized their protest.

And so the police killings of unarmed black people continued and you seem so shocked that there would be a violent revolt.

Maybe they have your attention now.

Maybe we can recognize the problem now and find a solution.

See when you say the stereotype exists based in factual evidence it sounds like you're justifying the stereotype. If youre not, what role does that have in the conversation?

This is what I mean, there is lots of people who just unknowingly feed into this problem without realizing it.

We all operate on stereotypes of black people. You do it, I do it, other black people do it, its natural. Just because I do it doesnt mean I somehow dont recognize what I'm doing, what its effect is, and what its consequences on a national scale are.

if we are comparing Obama then lets also remember during the Freddie Gray rioting that Obama also called them criminals and thugs.

I don't think the President whether it was Obama then or Trump now is someone to come up with a solution. lawmakers would be in a better position, Democrat and Republican politicians coming together with ideas. I don't think any of this is helped by rioting.

You're being willfully blind and ignorant here. I understand your stance here, but you're choosing to ignore the violence, looting, rioting, assault of innocent people, murder of a black security guard, burning of businesses... because you found a few incidents of cops who've engaged the rioters. There's a small handful of actual protests going on right now. Nearly all of this is destructive ignorance.

Do you want law enforcement to just stand by and watch as businesses, including black owned, are burned to the ground? I don't.

The crazy thing is, Obama, Clinton, Bush, etc all failed on addressing this issue and I actually think Trump has the best chance to do something. He’s the only one willing to make drastic executive orders. He just needs to see what’s in it for himself; an increase in black voter support even if he loses a few cops.

It’s not a few, it’s many. All of these protests started to speak out against police brutality and here we are seeing even more acts of it. There’s seriously dozens more than what I shared.

They want to take down someone for breaking into a store, fine. But I saw them march down a residential street and shoot people on their own front porch. And there’s more and more.

I’m not ignoring the rioting. But some people here seem to think it just spawned from nowhere. The same people who bashed a national anthem protest and ignore the many many, almost daily, acts of police brutality and wonder why it explodes like this.

The people in nyc were standing there protesting and got driven over. At a protest against POLICE BRUTALITY.

Guess what happens when you burn and loot businesses? You incite more police brutality! And you get what you deserve. Those cops are standing in an angry mob that is looking to be violent and destructive. The people setting buildings and vehicles on fire should be thankful that these cops aren't putting bullets in their heads.

If a cop instructs you to move out of the way of his vehicle and you don't, and then you start pounding on the windows or jump on the hood, you deserve to be run over.

Full? No, but a good chunk of it, they’ve been instigating most of the violence.

When is Trump going to head down to the protests and put his world class negotiation skills on display? No problem negotiating with North Korea and the Taliban. Should be able to easily negotiate with Americans.

We all operate on stereotypes of ALL people. Everyone has prejudices. There’s typically nothing wrong with them. Some of them are based on factual information. It doesn’t mean it applies to ALL people of that race, gender, creed.

I grew up Catholic. I went to 12 years of Catholic school. Is it bad that I prejudge catholic priests as perverts? My best friends family is Irish. I prejudge his family as a bunch of drunks.

I grew up in a rough neighborhood outside of Philly. I now live just outside of Omaha, NE. People try to act like Omaha is a ghetto. It’s not by comparison. A few months ago I was standing in line at Walmart. A black woman walked up behind me talking so I turned around thinking she was talking to me. Turns out she was on her Bluetooth. But she started to mock me, asking me “who was I looking at?” I proceeded to laugh in her face and started mocking her. I probably would not have done this in my old neighborhood.

As I said before, time will ease these stereotypes. But it’s partially on black people as well. If you don’t want to be viewed as a thug/gang member, than don’t dress/act like a thug/gang member. Is it fair that we stereotype people? I don’t know. But everyone is a stereotype for some reason.
