The numbers I looked at specifically were numbers in some inner cities, mainly ones of higher violent crime. For instance, Baltimore has roughly 2000 violent crimes per year, most of which is committed by young black males. Baltimore also has a population of about 590,000 total. I guesstimated that about 15% or 88,000 of that is young, black men. In comparison, I looked at the number of citizens killed/harmed by police in Baltimore. Yes, numbers on police are difficult to get but even expanding the numbers to include police brutality it still doesn’t add up to match violent crimes.
