I've already given a comparable situation. if a white person sees a black man walking down the sidewalk and is scared for the life because this black man simply must be a criminal that will hurt them, everyone here knows that is not a fair judgement. period. anyone that would make that conclusion would easily be called racist.

it should not be okay to conclude that everyone black is X.
it should not be okay to conclude that the police in general are X. that is what Reese did.

why is one wrong and the other okay.

he was not to blame for what the police did, but his generalization for "the police" was wrong.

this has been the same case with Muslims for years where some make a conclusion about Muslims. see a Muslim on a plane, must be a terrorist? of course not, that is not a fair judgement.
