Maybe if Trump didn't act like a prepubescent girl everytime he something negative was written or said about him then he would get some leniency from the media. But there's numerous examples of this man child losing his **** when someone asks him a legit question that he doesn't like. He wants a state run media that heaps praise on him and with a free press that isn't going to happen. You need thick skin to be president and unfortunately Trump's is saran wrap thick.

Believe it or not I don't agree with him on everything. I brought it up because that's what dems were doing in late February... But now it's revisionist history time and dems want to act like they would have been on the ball if they were in charge.

I actually think the US has done a good job of handling the pandemic and surprise, hardly think it has anything to do with Donnie. Our response has been in line with the rest of the western world minus Sweden.

Apples and oranges.

We have over 30 states bigger than Korea. And Korea is one of the most homogeneous places on earth…they're pretty much all Koreans. It is much easier to control a small country populated by people that are carbon copies of each other.

And has anyone noticed that the countries that are the heaviest hit are countries that people actually visit…you know like travel to. People just don't travel to Korea. The virus had to get our of China somehow…and it was by travel.

I'm sensing a pattern here.

Many of you are trying to pin the US corona virus victims on Trump…we get it. You don't like Trump. Got it. Understood.

But you are failing to take into consideration many factors, not the least of which is the complex dynamics of the US society…size, population, diversity, different types of living standards, income distribution etc. Facets most countries do not have to deal with.

Korea is the size of Kentucky. You can drive from one end to the other. How difficult would it be to get masks to everyone KY (even with the same population as ROK) or making sure everyone in KY is near a hospital, or to move ventilators around, or making sure everyone in KY has a pound of rice.

Could Trump have done better…yes. Could Trump have done worse…yes. Could previous admins have done better in preparing government stockpiles… yes. (Trump did not empty the shelves of supplies. They weren't there.) Could they have done worse…yes.

No one could have done a better job at handling this virus. Not BO, not Reagan, not Kennedy, not Ike. All of them would have done a better job leading from the front, keeping the country placated, interacting with the press. But just as many people would have been infected and just as many people would have died.

You cannot adequately prepare for something like this nor can you come up with a "best way" of handling something like this.

And don't compare the US with Korea. Just silly.

Trump only has to do his job with any semblance of dignity if the media stops doing theirs and accurately covering administration’s gigantic failure and gross incompetence and are nicer to him—a very Special take. His idea that the POTUS should hold his duties hostage over media fellatio runs very smoothly in sync with his desire for Trump to not be criticized.

Yes... you wanted to hit the dems with something that was bipartisan... I get it.

When you talk about who did a good job in the western world, don't forget about Germany. And Even though New zealand, Taiwan, and South Korea are out east it's not like they are third world nations.

If you think we did a good job. that's fine... but your justification is a little strange. Just because a whole bunch of people trip at the start of a race doesn't mean you did a good job because you fell too.

Beyond all of this we will not know how good anyone did untill we have an actual understanding of how many people were infected... Comparing France to Germany for example shows you why.

Germany has 167,007 cases. a rate of 2,009 permil with 6,993 deaths.

France has 132,967 cases a rate of 1,982 per mil with 25,531 deaths.

The likely explanation of that difference in death rate 4% to 19 % is the difference in testing capacity. So I'd save my judgement. Our death rate is way closer to germany than france.... germany is 4.1 we are 5.8 at this point... and that doesn't seem like a lot until you realize that's over 11,000 deaths.

By the way a cursory glance at the Covid rates in Europe make it clear than many of the nations did a better job than the US.. Google is your friend.

Like when the experts warn about human effects of climate change. And the response is “don’t seem right to me, I’ll do what I want”.

Yes it’s way early and we won’t know a lot of things about this for a long time...which is why we need to abide by what the people know best say and minimize strain on healthcare resources.

If you’re for spreading it faster for hers immunity, I totally get that. But given how this hits high risk groups, it’s going to be impossible to have enough healthcare resources to deal with the outcome.
