I'm still not sure how we are going to defeat COVID if we don't have one family member of the next president on the Task Force. Maybe we could have Jill Biden join it?

Flattening the curve will not occur unless and until we have a serviceable vaccine, which it appears we have today. We need to stop all of the rhetoric coming from an eastern state governor and allow the vaccine to be approved by the FDA. We need to stop all of the rhetoric from a west coast senator who may become the vice president and allow the vaccine to be released for everyone to utilize.
This vaccine has been shown to be effective and safe. I will take it when and if it is recommended to me.
And by the way, what is Jill Biden's PHD in?
This statement makes no sense. We significantly flattened the curve by shutting down in march April. There was no vaccine available.
Flattening the curve means to stop exponential growth (spread), this can and has been accomplished numerous ways.

With his occupation, one could assume he's actually purposely spreading misinformation (as opposed to being confused).
we flattened the curve when the population was willing to accept a shutdown
think they're willing to accept another one?
It was back then, too...but still, far Far FAR too many people (not all of 'em even Trumpublicans despite what people think) view masks as unnecessary/unwhatever else. I have a coworker who starts talking about how many particles per thousand of the virus is enough to infect someone and how many get through a mask, etc etc....and that wearing a mask is a 'walk of shame'...and he's one of the most left people I know
The biggest town in my county has had a mandate for a couple months, and the spread continues....which allowed the biggest city in the state to decide again last night to vote down a mask mandate. They still think people will 'do the right thing' without a mandate....because that has worked so well so far.
Ya know, you guys can dislike all those people who voted for Trump and have no idea how they could stand by him now........but it's ridiculous to make it sound like their average intelligence is lower than yours.....oh that's right, dbroncslefty thinks Christians are ignorant in the first place....
Nah it’s more than a fair assumption. You have to be severely challenged to support a transparently idiotic bigoted grifter who has given us definitive proof that he is worthless, cruel, and unqualified for even the lowest political position on a daily basis for four years. There is no excuse for supporting him other than blind zealotry or simply not having control of your brain.
Oh please, I realize it's mostly Trumpublicans, but I know plenty of Democrats around here and elsewhere that fight masks, too...............but the real point is, you're equating that difference in mindset as a lack of intelligence just like your mindset that because someone believes in God they lack common sense and logical thinking skills
I also agree that voting for Donald Trump is a sign of a lack of intelligence. You are either stupid or cruel if you supported him
lol @ 'theoretically possible'
of course it's possible...not only possible, but true
Love that Biden added Michael Osterholm to his COVID team. That guy is one of the best minds in infectious disease and has a great podcast that gives some of the best info on this whole mess.

I feel like with trump it's an emotional appeal. I feel the right wing propaganda machine is much more set in emotional appeal than left wing, that's why there's such a disconnect between both sides.
Most people I talk to that say pro trump, really they are like **** the system, burn it down.
I'm like you idiots, Trump is pure corporate, wtf!!
But its def an emotional appeal, and a VERY powerful one.

How is it possible your surgeon friend went through med school and still willing to vote for a man who rolled out the complete failure of a corona response we are now dealing with.
Did he not take epidemiology?
Ask him. Ask him psd wants to know what the ****, man.

I'm not a Democrat. I have no need to spread disinformation about Covid.
Enough snarky remarks though. We will not flatten the curve substantially without either closing the economy down, as we did in March of 2020 or we have a serviceable vaccine. That will be the only thing that allows us to get back to any sort of normalcy in our country.
Closing the country down is unacceptable in the long run. The only thing that happens is the government goes broke and people are limited as to the choices they have for basic products. A serviceable vaccine will allow us to get back to pre-Covid normals, or at least get close.
As to the styles of vaccines, and there are many, I don't have the expertise to make any comments on this. I recommend reading the news that comes from Lancet, Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) or the major universities -- NYU, Johns Hopkins, and the major medical centers -- Mayo etal.
Now for some general suggestions that you have heard elsewhere, but I will repeat them to be sure they are understood.
1. Wear a mask when you are in public. If you are walking your dog or exercising in a park with no one else around you, you should be OK. If you are in a store or taking public transportation, wear one.
2. Wash your hands. Hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol are very effective in killing Covid. Washing with soap and water is also effective.
3. Stay out of large crowds.
You are so lost on this topic.
Many leaders botched their pandemic response early on. Big difference with Trump compared to many others is that he refused to learn from his early mistakes and instead, generally doubled down on his idiotic approach to this virus. It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another much worse thing to not learn from your mistakes. It'd be much easier to cut Trump a little slack here if he wasn't guilty of the latter.
What are you having trouble following here, Brewers?
