Yeah, hes told me the details but I'm so far off I dont remember. He really enjoys his bus driving, a reason to get up in the morning and a little spending money.
I feel for our first-line responders and the stress they are under. I think the mental stress will be felt by most of us as time goes on. Just the visual of the pandemic is jarring. Empty streets, people maintaining their spacing in line, countless people in masks, and store attendants wiping down shopping carts. Especially no sports or social outing.
I am sure this stress, in part, is pushing the stay at home policy protest
How do you feel about the Lakers getting a small business loan?

Forgive me if I’m wrong but you’re in NY too, right? I could’ve sworn we had a conversation about you being in the Slopes once upon a time.
I know firsthand that everything is really jarring. I took my mom to her oncologist appointment in a predominantly Jewish area and there were literally freezer trucks posted up loading up body bags after body bags. Growing up in a post-9/11 world to me has made me incredibly desensitized. I see these things and I think “man that sucks” but I don’t get emotional over it. My desensitization has just led me to coping with this pandemic a little better than others...and I’m still not coping well. Still, my attitude is part of the reason why I’m studying to be a mental health counselor, I feel like that career path is even more so important after witnessing this **** that’s been going on.
You’re absolutely right about the visual being jarring as well. Everybody looks at each other like they’re crazy, people walking in the street to avoid others, and the abundance of arguments I’ve been seeing on the neighborhood Facebook page. If this pandemic has motivated me to do anything, it’s to run for office once I get my career started.
The stress is definitely pushing the protests. The people who are saying “I need a haircut” or “I want to go golfing” can go **** themselves. The people who are protesting going back to work or whatever, I feel for them...if they exist. Still, if the government wasn’t withholding OUR money and gave the people the relief they deserve, I’m sure these protests would still be going on but the stress would be alleviated a bit.
Coronavirus: Bay Area’s shelter-in-place to last through May
https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/04/...rough-may/amp/Quote:
The Bay Area’s shelter-in-place order will be extended through the month of May, officials said Monday, with the current restrictions largely remaining in place.
Seven jurisdictions that banded together on the previous orders — Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties, plus the city of Berkeley — will release details of the latest order this week, officials said in a joint statement, to replace the current order, which was set to expire May 3.
