Good idea.
Screw it. We’ll go back to when life expecancy was, like, 36.
That’ll take care of the Social Security and Medicare “problems”.
Yes, we all die of something....the process begins at birth.
By all means, let's just keep adding ways for that to happen...we like variety.
The death rate dropped .87% over a 5 month period. Let's shut everything down and hide.
Can't find the ones I ran across last week (I'll do additional digging later) but these paint a pretty clear picture:
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/c....htm#AgeAndSex
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...l%20conditions.
https://www.advisory.com/daily-brief.../13/covid-risk
https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covi...ries-by-state/
but a reason the overall death rate has dropped likely is impacted by the fact people were staying home....not on the roads as much, not out on the water as much, and any number of other causes of death that would be lessened by staying close to home MUCH more often
Okay Mr. PhD. You can't do math.
I told you I'll find the links later. In the meantime, pull out your calculator. I'll get you started:
842.5(ages 75+)/1350.4(total hospitalization per 100,000)=62%
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...l%20conditions.
Now you can continue on with the rest of the links. Pretty simple equations.
Not buying it at all. With the protests/riots, there are people all over the streets. I have no doubt that in your part of the country, activity is minimal but it always is. Rush hour is most definitely back to being rush hour not only where I live, but also everywhere I travel to. People are at restaurants, grocery stores, on the water (you can't even rent a boat in my area without a 7 week wait)...etc.
sidebar: my brother lives in Honolulu and normally went nowhere near Waikiki, but during shutdown earlier this year made regular trips to swim there.......and was astounded by how clear the water was and how many fish were around.......after just a few weeks of no tourists stirring things up
Somewhere I can't remember I ran into a bunch of satellite photos of places all over the world from before and after shutdowns....amazing how quickly things happen, showing how much our presence effects things and how quickly it can recover when we're simply not there
