There are are a lot of "outliers."
There are are a lot of "outliers."
Just heard a report that over 100,000 people each year die of DUI related incidents.
We should outlaw alcohol. And if you disagree, then you don’t care about the people who are killed each year. You should be willing to give up your right to drink so that they may live.
See how that works? What would be the fallacy to this argument?

… except we’ve already given up our right to drink and drive because of the potential to hurt others. Even you.
Unless you’re saying you don’t agree with DUI laws and think people should be allowed to drink and drive because otherwise you’re giving up your freedom…
Yes people still drink and drive, and they will still do so even if all alcohol is outlawed.
But if you’re looking at it from a what saves the most lives position, you should definitely prioritize everyone getting vaccine over drinking as Covid has killed far more people than DUIs the past 2 years.
This is an article about the court that ordered an Ohio hospital to give Ivermectin to a patient.

Imagine being a doctor in an ICU filling with people and some quack gets a judge to force you to give a treatment that you have no evidence works. It has to be incredibly frustrating.
They did say that the hospital made them sign a release so they couldn't be held liable if anything adverse happened due to the Ivermectin.
Of course, now that this has happened this one guy is going to be treated like a case study. If he manages to pull through, it will be proof that it works; if he dies, they'll have waited too late to start or some other nonsense. People are going to treat this one case like it matters in the grand scheme of whether or not Ivermectin works on COVID.
So it’s 650,000 then?
650,000 lives lost and we can morally take away freedoms.
What other causes of death have taken 650,000 (that number is inflated cause we know excess mortality is not that high) lives in the last year and half?
