Imagine someone saying a drug is just a horse dewormer because they have no legit point. The left as usual.
No one tell him that the vaccines are still approved despite monoclonal antibodies existing.
Thanks. It happens.
Doctors are handicapped by both their own knowledge, which everyone is limited by, as well as regulations in which if they don't abide by, they can be sued. While doctors have more knowledge than most, they don't have it all.
I'm not sure if I've ever said this on this forum, but i have kidney failure. I've had it since 2006 actually. I got a transplant in 2013. Before my first transplant, i looked into different types of dialysis. In 2006, my doctor told me peritoneal dialysis wasn't an option because of xyz. So i settled on home hemodialysis and did that for 6 years. Anyway, in early 2020, my transplanted kidney failed as they do after 7 years so i har to go back on dialysis. Home hemo was not an option this time. Also, i had moved across the country with my current girlfriend. After doing hemodialysis at the clinic for about 6 months my new doctor asked me if I'd be interested in peritoneal. I said yes and I've been doing that for over a year now. It's actually been life changing in that im able to do it while i sleep and its not exhausting the way hemodialysis is. Im still able to work and enjoy life. Not to mention, the dialysis is better. I guess i should have just listened to the first doctor though right?
I'm sorry to hear that. My mother has Kidney failure as well, but I guess she has enough function to where she doesn't need dialysis yet.
Sounds like you listened to both. Now imagine if a Doctor had told you to do neither of those but to take Invermectin instead... would you have? Or more precisely, would you ever tell both of those Doctors you don't want to do either version of dialysis but instead want to take Invermectin instead?
Beacuse that's comparable to forgoing recommended treatment for COVID to take Invermectin instead.
Show me, anyone, that's consistently described Ivermectin as a "horse dewormer" who has also bothered to list the other uses or that it's been prescribed safely to humans millions of times for over 3 decades.
At this point, the closet you can come up with is a "lie of omission" where people who describe it this way INTENTIONALLY leave out these facts to medically misinform people about the drug and the history of the drug.
Yeah. You only need 10% of kidney function to survive and that's either kidney.
The point is, had i known more about peritoneal dialysis when the first doctor recommended against it, i would have told him to go pound sand and sought a second opinion. The 6 years i did home hemo could have been much more enjoyable. If i ever need a third transplant and are forced back on dialysis while i wait, i will be doing peritoneal dialysis despite my doctors recommendation.
The difference between covid and most other diseases is covid is fairly new. Last year, there were claims about the ineffectiveness of masks before they were deemed effective. Not to mention, the possibility of it starting in a laboratory. In other words, any treatment or even the vaccine is somewhat experimental. Its not comparable to kidney failure.
Here's something that is compatible. When my daughter was born 14 years ago, we paid like $3000 to extract and store her stem cells from the cord blood. It's cost me $100 every year since, so almost $4500 total. That same doctor while not recommending against it, sort of chuckled/scoffed when i told him about it. Now currently, they aren't able to use stem cells to produce usable kidneys but I'm still satisfied with my purchase. If not for me than potentially for my daughter at some point in the future.
