I’ve been saying this kind of information for at least the past two weeks. This observation is especially revealing if you look at covid-19 mortality rates per 100k population. There are comparable regions in the US with population densities similar to France/Spain/Italy/UK that report mortality rates 2 or 3 times any of those countries and 10 to 15 times the mortality rate of Germany.

You’re basically saying “they started it”. And like my mom said “I don’t care who started it”.

He’s a leader. Like Obama and W, you absorb the criticism, and move on and LEAD. That’s what every leader knows. Even a supermarket manager knows that.

He’s not used to it because he runs a business where he only accepts blind support. Those businesses are toxic environments and that’s exactly what we have now between him and the press. Even his beloved Fox when they dare criticize him.

Ask yourself these questions:

Should we have had plans for a virus pandemic in place?
Did we create a test for the virus that was faulty and didn't work for 3 weeks?
Did we run short on testing supplies when the government could have ordered them made?
Are we still short on testing today?
Did we have state governments fighting over resources?
Why won't Special shut up about CNN? wait that last one isn't relevant.

I don't believe he has no interest or chooses to act this way. Choosing would imply that he could if he wanted.

I just don't think his personality is wired in any way to allow him to lead in a professional manner.

it should be the media's job not to act how they do, to do their job and cover the President the same way they should cover literally any story whether it's politics or not, without bias, covering the truth. that has not been happening.

I understand some don't really care because orange man bad is the top priority.

there is no chance that Trump as the Republican President would get any leniency from the mainstream media. politics is this divided in part because of what they have done.

True, but in things like epidemics, population density matters a great deal (obviously, one reason why with a population of 10 million NYC suffers far more than, say Georgia, which has the same population). So, the current per capita death rate in the US (22 per 100K) tells only a facet of the story. Likewise, there are also regional and local hot spots.

Took*. I figured that would have been easy to figure out.

Of course, the media is partly to blame for the division in this country but the president should bear most of that criticism. He's the leader of the country and all he does is attack people, both in the media and to Democrats and Republicans, alike, who don't agree with him. He is a TERRIBLE leader.

Do you actually believe anything that China says????

Built hospitals in two weeks…that happened here too. Field hospitals went up in a matter of days.

We ran out of masks and ventilators in two weeks…seems like there were several stories of China making and hoarding supplies while keeping info on the virus quiet. And the nature of our economy can work against us at times. No one want to buy items to store, it's costly. China couldn't care less about that. bThey do what they are told. There was also that story that one company (back in 2008 I believe) contracted to build ventilators are a cheap price than a competitor bought out the original company and cancelled the deal for the lower price. That wouldn't have happened in China. In our capitalist society, that is more common than many think. In an emergence situation, that may not work in society's favor.

I'm not saying that we couldn't have done a better job…we could have. We also could have done a worse job.

Some poster compared us to South Korea…my point is that that is ridiculous.

I also mentioned that the countries with high rates of contagion are pretty much the same countries that receive a lot of international travel. Not many people travel to Korea (none of you addressed this point). China had quite a few people moving about the world as they kept this quiet…think that may have had something to do with it.

With all that has happened, China is getting off this pretty easily.
