I think it's a fair comparison if we are talking about what to expect 3 or 4 years down the line.

But at this point in time it's behavior is more comparable to a novel virus, such as Spanish flu a hundred years ago.

No... For a logical reason. People don't understand this. Putttng it the context that people understand makes sense. As long as people understand the two are different, analogy helps understanding for most... (I know I know there are some who can't think in analogy).

The way you and Brewers tell it, you have a way better chance at winning the lottery than contracting or dying from Covid.

Now that city is quite an outlier with it's international travel and population density. Everyone directly on top of each other. Get that 100%.

Now, let's look at the balance of the country. We can get this economy flowing full stream. But you guys dont want that either. We're kinda at a stale mate here and your side is eroring on the wrong side of science. Using a singular epicenter to dictate the balance of the country.

Get the **** out and do it properly and follow the suggested standards. 90% of this country is not in a NYC minute.

Maybe scientists are partisan hacks who can’t understand the science.

And perhaps you shouldn’t talk about understanding science and then try to make it seem like this has only really affected NYC. There are over a million cases of Covid in the US outside of NYC. So this is not just a NYC problem.

I'm actually for a more measured response. The key is testing. If testing is easy and everywhere... then we can lock down where there is a break out... and let places that are not in a break out conduct buisness.
