Serious question…did the article say why bats??? What is it about them that makes them such perfect carriers??? Why no other mammals???

It is other mammals too, but bats are particularly nasty. It probably has to do with what the bats eat and their metabolism.

So what happens to ecosystems where bats are eating ticks, mosquitos, flies, etc? An influx of those could drastically destroy an economy or allow for more infection like Lyme disease or malaria. ****, the bats could eat these insects that poison/infect crops.

I get what you’re trying to say but I’m just trying to show you that it’s not anywhere that simple.

The Animal Kingdom in Disney World has a walk thru safari trek type of thing and they have a field house with bats. The must be almost 18-24" long (body not wings). Creepy. I can't imagine being the giu that goes in there to feed them.

It can be bypassed if you want an a lot of people pass it up and move on to the tropical birds. Much nicer.

Interesting side note on that. I talked to a research scientist and he said they figured out how to completely eliminate malaria by genetically altering a few hundred thousand mosquitoes and setting them free. And in some number of generations they could breed out the aspects that let them carry and transmit malaria. When they looked at what the ramifications might be from actually doing it ... it was essentially an extinction event because mosquitoes were so critical to life on the planet they couldn't be close to sure that humans would survive continuing the research..

The problem is is that the wrong women are coming to the forefront. You need the right person to make that big breakthrough. People that others can relate to. People hate Hilly. 2024 or 2028 is the time for a new beginning with fresh faces. Hopefully by then we should be past the dynasties of Clinton (for sure) and Obama (hopefully). Trump will be a memory. Bernie will be old, as will Warren, Pelosi will be gone, RBG will be planted, McConnel should be gone. All good things to look forward to.

Remember what Clemenza said about Mafia wars…These things come up every seven years or so to clear out the bad blood.

It's ****ed up... of everyone in the field Warren is by far the most qualified... Bernie included... but to thread the needle of the demands of personality for women is really hard. Thanks. That is a fascinating story from a few years back... I like to think of it as ecosystem dominoes.

So a nurse joins Mr. petty and says that PPE has been sporadic and she has to reuse masks because they don’t have enough and yeah, she was told that others have plenty but that she is basically the one with issues.
