I recognize that there are those in the US who will use the fact China under reported their cases to mitigate or absolve the US of blame. Obviously, I don’t believe that.
Can you show me where the US repeatedly knew of the official case count or death count and provided a different number?
Not as in, provided the number of likely infected as opposed to for sure infected. But knew the number was say 5,900 and instead said it was 2,800?
One thing I will say from it and regardless the extremes they took, I don't trust them. Their numbers might be somewhat accurate but the means they got to them are extremely sketchy and if they are accurate certainly something that despite our disagreement in the last few pages/days that we would both never accept.
Again you’re intentionally not posting further quotes from the source that are damaging to your theory. This is the third time now. It is disingenuous and straight up dishonest.
What do I think it means? From the exact same source:
“This discrepancy was likely due to a combination of a highly dysfunctional reporting system and a recurrent instinct to suppress bad news. These documents show the full extent of what officials knew, but chose not to spell out to the public”
Another quote from the article:
“Chinese officials seemed actually to minimize the impact of the epidemic at any moment in time.”
There are many more quotes similar to these. Point is, the very source you’re claiming proves you right actually says you’re wrong.
So what? That's common.
Read those two quotes and tell me honestly if they could not perfectly describe any few dozen countries around the world, including america, to a tee. And tbh, EVERY country to some degree.
Why is that a story?
But you are correct. Your claim is correct. China lied. I think it's a complete fluff story but sure, china lied. Technically every country also lied, but yes, China lied too. You are right.

The fact you immediately try to claim “everyone was doing it” to defend China is another example of your infatuation with them.
Again, tell me when the US intentionally gave out a different number of cases or deaths than what their tally was. Not like, discrepancy in how those cases were counted but full on “our number is 2,000, tell people it was 500”?
Trump tried to do this with his lying and intentionally not testing people, but our actual health officials did not.
The fact you STILL continue to believe this story is them simply trying to discern how best to quantify why is or isn’t a positive Covid diagnosis shows you still don’t get it.
I'm saying everyone was doing it to show you how it's a non story. Those two quotes can 100% apply to america.
They ARE trying to discern how to quantify it as evidence by the fact they had their numbers sub categorized. They gave the media the cherry on top version. Ok.
Anyways, you do realize I told you you are right, china lied. Every country on earth technically did, and yes, china did too.

Isn’t this the whole point of the disagreement? Some view region as a special category into itself? I’m not religious but honestly have no desire to end religion or close places of worship down. I also understand that they are significant to people’s daily lives. But they aren’t essential in a pandemic as places of worship (other religious functions may be deemed essential) and treating them like they are isn’t treating them like other businesses it treating them as special. And this is public not personal health. Saying you will die for the right to go to church is missing the point because it’s just as possible that getting infected will cause you to inadvertently contribute to the spread that will take the lives of others. This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with a pandemic.
This thread has been derailed by some posters that insist that their google search is more important than professional experience.
Donald Trump was fired from his job because of his response to Covid, as well he should have been. Had he done a reasonable job of responding to it, he would have been re-elected in a landslide.
