I'm fully aware of the point, I simply rejected your end-of-the-world comment.
I know you're not interested in an honest conversation but I'll humor you anyways: I'd have taken this **** ultra seriously from the beginning, done a nationwide mandate on masks in all public spaces from day one to well past implementation of a vaccine, shut down basically all long distance traveling via planes, a real lockdown of all non-essential businesses and activities for numerous months (or whatever was deemed necessary by the experts), mandate any business that can get away with it to offer work from home options, and offer livable monthly wages via stimulus checks for those that can't work from home. I def wouldn't cave to public pressure by short-sighted dimwits that have gotten "bored" with (and/or don't believe in the effectiveness of) obeying shelter in place mandates.
In terms of what I'd do right now in our current position? That is more difficult to answer but it would involve some of these same measures.
What makes you think I'm not interested in a legitimate discussion? This is your defense mechanism coming out.
I agree with what you have said, except the travel part. If people are masked, air travel is safe. Airplanes can be fitted with hepa filters that remove all pathogens from the air and completely disinfected between flights. They would require frequent maintenance, but they would make travel safe.
The PPP was in place until the congress failed to reauthorize it. It paid businesses to pay their employees to keep them off unemployment and hold their jobs open.
I agree that remote work is a viable option, as my significant other is able to do her job from home and chooses to do so for the most part (she works in a college library). We are trying to keep her elderly mother safe and so far, we have been successful in keeping her from being infected, even though I was infected, a grandson was infected and a great nephew and his family were (the relatives all live within half a mile of her house). When I was ill, I didn't go anywhere for about 2 weeks and had my things delivered to my house. People would leave things on my deck and I would pick them up as I could.
As far as calling people "short-sighted dimwits", that is a term I would not use. Pandemic fatigue is a real thing. People are genuinely tired of not seeing family. Elderly people in nursing homes are developing a condition called "failure to thrive" due to their isolation. Young people in nursing homes are getting depressed. Residents have told me they would rather take their chances with Covid than not be able to talk to their families face to face.
You have a good grasp of this situation, but we all need to work together to beat this. We all need to be vaccinated and, until this happens, continue with masking, social distancing, and good hygiene.
Nah, that's simply me being fully aware of your posting history on this topic. You're not quite as abrasive as Jacko or quite openly as ignorant as ccugrad but you spread slight iterations of the same horse ****, which I have zero respect or tolerance for (especially coming from a "healthcare worker").
Don't pretend like you're above insulting people that think differently than you. I'm aware of the issues that isolation can cause and totally feel for those in nursing homes especially. Patience is a virtue. The vast majority of the people I am referring to as short-sighted dimwits are people far from elderly or immobilized that are too selfish or too brainwashed by the media they consume to care about protecting those around them.Quote:

Pretty funny how less than 24 hours after ignoring everything I say about the pandemic and claiming I have added nothing to any related conversation ever (as well as flipping out because I called out your false claim, all while kissing the *** of a mod who did exactly the same), you now say that I "have a good grasp of this situation".Quote:

Sorry but your shallow statements mean little to nothing to me .
In january when this popped up and into February, I thought travel would be restricted in and out of CA, WA, and OR (thought they would lump Oregon with us) and NY. I thought they would only allow business travel, and heavy screening in all high traffic areas. Mandatory masks in high traffic areas (airports, subways) maybe shut down huge gatherings of thousands of people, including sports.
I thought people would be tracked and traced and soon the way travel would be accounted for and tracked from the 3 early hot zones (CA, WA, NY), they would start doing on a local level on basis of metro areas across the nation. Also to generally include dense areas more restricted, rural less.
Even back in Feb I was like wtf, pay a dozen people $150 a day, that's $2k, you can screen tens of thousands of travelers at airports. How is that not worth it?? Instead we paid $5 trillion..
If we had this sort of baseline, as we learned more about the virus we could keep restrategizing and trying to keep the economy in the most open phase as possible, which at this point in time would most likely mean eventually getting to some pseudo mandatory mask mandate. Because this allows for the most open economy possible. $5 a mask for 350 million people, less than $2 billion total, easily worth it.
We should have never had outbreaks to begin with. Hello mcFly, anybody home??
We would still be taking losses, but they would be very minimal compared to what's happening right now. We had the most incompetent response imaginable. We lost almost to the max on every front.
Starts with this dimwit president literally pushing propaganda for behavior which destroys economies. Absolute idiot.

Mnuchin is trying to move half a trillion of CARES Act dollars back into the general fund. In an apparent violation of the law.
not an apparent violation....a very real one as that money was already earmarked for NON general expenditures
One of the atrocious parts of all this is that some of that $500bil was earmarked for small businesses thru the PPP program......yet the regulations put in place cause many small businesses to not be able to get to any of those funds before having to close their doors...in part because they didn't have a 'close relationship with a bank' and had a hard time getting banks to process their application.
Its obvious that you really do not want to discuss anything. You simply want to whine and complain about being picked on. I told you that, for the most part, I agree with what you said and you call it "shallow". I guess, coming from someone like you, I should consider that a compliment.
If you really want a legitimate discussion, drop the nonsense about being the "victim". No one is picking on you without reason to do so. Your tactics are not anger provoking, just annoying.
And, by the way, I do not kiss up to anyone on this board. I was promoted to Team manager due to my content for my team. Have a nice day and enjoy your victimhood. I'll not contribute further.
Three campaign promises most likely to deceive voters:
“My fellow Americans...
(a) “we must address the needs of small businesses, you know, those all-important mom and pop stores; why, they are the backbone of America.” (translation: “let’s get more money, yes, but to bail out fraudulent — too big to fail, much less to jail — corporations and financial institutions.”)
(b) “we must lower taxes — to lessen the burden on the middle class.” (translation: “we must create more loopholes for me and my already disgustingly rich buddies.”)
(c) “we must support our defenses and our heroes in the military.” (translation: “we need the world’s resources, and here are just the guys that will make sure we get them and keep them.”)
...and may God bless the United States of America.”
