New York has done better than Florida after the initial surge pretty much every step of the way. Even if you want to use the seasonal argument, New York has only experienced one surge since the initial outbreak and that was in January 2021 and the daily death toll during that surge was just over 200 a day.
Florida's summer surge this past summer saw daily deaths of 350 per day (for more days). Heck, Florida had a surge in January just as New York did that saw peak deaths reach 180 a day.
Florida has had 3 surges since the initial outbreak, New York only had the one.
There's no comparison. Florida's plan leads to multiple surges and more death. New York has actually done a good job keeping COVID at bay after the initial outbreak.
But that's kind of what you do right? You act like we haven't moved past last April. It's why literally everything you say has to do with the first 2 months of COVID and not the subsequent 18 months.
