Nothing I said was untrue. Cloth masks were still effective during the early stages of the pandemic when there were a shortages of masks in general (especially KN95s). Not to mention the virus was far less contagious in its more original strains. Obviously, we're 2 years in now and that isn't nearly as much of a problem.

And again, its not rocket science to properly wear a N95 mask. Yes, there are a lot of dumb people out there but there are also a lot of people who mocked the use of masks and wore them improperly as a political statement. Whatever the case is, all you're doing is giving that moron Birds of Prey more validation to his dumb argument.

If designed and used correctly is the key quote in your post. As I said, too many people were wearing improperly designed masks or wearing proper masks improperly and they were given a bad name.
As to me giving anyone validation, the only ones I care to validate are the CDC.

I have access to surgical masks that are nearly as effective as N95s are are far more comfortable. Wearing N95s for 8-12 hour shifts daily is not comfortable.

I will state, for the record, that when properly constructed and worn, masks are effective in stopping the spread of most viruses. Covid is not an exception to this. That is all I am saying.

The cloth masks that were worn by the vast percentage of people in the US were NOT effective. There are too many studies out there to say otherwise. They were useless. We are talking about the Covid virus here and I have heard many reputable scientists(some of whom Fauci tried to silence) talk about how the virus can get through the fibers of the cloth and enter the human body via the mouth or nose.

That is the bottom line. When people say stuff like "when properly constructed and worn" it provides the truth about what the person is actually ignoring and that is the likelihood that the person will buy or use a mask that will be "properly" constructed and worn.

Come-on. This is just common sense. the government and civilians bought inferior products to issue people because of the cost that would have occurred if they did issue effective masks to people. And the messages given to people were all over the place regarding mask effectiveness. Early on, Fauci himself said that masks are ineffective against Corona viruses and it was later that he reversed himself on it and started talking about the need for 2-3 masks which further caused confusion on mask effectiveness.

While it is very true that there were a lot of people that tried to make a profit on the fear of Covid, most of the masks worked and still do. My church has a lot of people that are good with their sewing machines and they made masks for the county public health to give away. The design they used was from the Iowa Department of Public Health and they worked nicely.

What does the data look like from 2020 and early 2021? I will say that it likely looks a bit different, with masks showing good prevention of disease spread. Why do you think that healthcare workers all wear them when we are at work? We don't need to bring bugs home.

Not single layer cloth masks which by far were the largest type of mask distributed to the public by Health Agencies and companies . IT was hundreds of millions of dollars spent needlessly and didn't prevent the virus and help the person wearing the mask at all. And it actually gave some people the false belief that they would be safe from getting the virus if they put some cloth over their nose and mouth.
