what groups of people are at a higher risk? unless I've missed it, isn't it old people/senior citizens?

why can't they be protected, and younger people less at risk can get back to work and reopen America with masks/social distancing.

where are hospitals overwhelmed? NY maybe? I've seen many different pictures/videos contradicting hospitals are overwhelmed, with nurses making tik tok videos dancing.

Well that's not a conspiracy theory our very own zmaster called this thing a blessing in disguise because of that. The idea that our politicians could possibly use a crisis to politic is far from conspiracy.

It’s not mortality rate, it’s what is the capacity abilities regionally at hospitals. That’s the breaking point.

We can’t lock down until there’s a cure or vaccine but we can slow phase some areas until we hit an excessive threshold for our healthcare system and then dial back again.

Because young people will spread it around to high risk groups. It’s a reasonable approach to just quarantine the high risk groups though so I’m with ya. I just think medical experts need more information on this disease before they’re comfortable with that.

NY, Chicago, etc. The point is that the shutdown has kept rates lower so hospitals aren’t overwhelmed. Opening up fully all at once will definitely overwhelm them and we can’t risk that. It means people dying who could have been treated and recover and it means millions of people with nonCOVID health issues not getting attention because hospitals are over capacity.

Lol glad to know my posts actually mean something to someone that they’re willing to remember them months later.

I’ve already made my clarifying comments and walked back what I said. Glad to know that you’re taking what I said during the literal first or second week of shutdown and are still holding me to it two or so months later.

Guess what? Opinions change. It’s almost like changing your opinion based off of new information is normal.

Still, while I wouldn’t call it a blessing in disguise anymore, I will say that one thing I’ve seen as a result of this pandemic is that there’s been a much more frequent discussion highlighting the inequality in this country, the ineptitude of the government and more so president, and how tribalistic people have become, and I believe that


I also realize how stupid those comments were considering Trump’s incompetence really goes over a much broader scope than I thought. Yeah, I made a snide remark as an agitated person who realizes how bad this presidency really is, sue me.
