This country definitely needs to start bringing back critical industries to be made in the US. A lot of this stuff could be made by automated robotic lines. Give the manufacturers a tax credit to re-home that requires them to sell to USA first. As of yesterday (April 19) the 11 states which comprise the Northeast (Maryland to Maine) have reported 27,970 Covid-19 deaths. That works out to 44 deaths per 100,000 population, well over the total US rate of 12 per 100,000, and worse than Spain (38) or Italy (34).
New York State alone has seen almost 100 deaths per 100,000, much of that, of course, centered in NYC.
