Some actual BB news
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported Friday the chances of playing games at home parks this summer with a crowd are becoming "increasingly remote," leading the league to consider alternatives.
MLB Reportedly Considering Playing in Empty Stadiums During Coronavirus Pandemic
********. I haven't seen him criticize Trump for anything. All he does is ask "Well would have the Democrats done a better job?". I would bet my life on Obama having a better response to this pandemic than Trump has had. We all know the blame goes around btw. Living in this state and NYC that's fairly obvious and no one is giving democrats whether on a local, state, and federal level a pass. DeBlasio handled this awfully and Cuomo, although on the front lines everyday, didn't do much better of a job either.
That said, the president continues making foolish statements, holds masks from states who need them, worries about his tv ratings and where he stands on Facebook when thousands of people are dying each day, etc. You guys can excuse that **** all you want but that type of leadership is comical.
The NBA is already talking about the rest of the season being cancelled. The fact is the players need reassurance they are walking into a safe environment and you can't do that with no known treatment, no vaccine, and no readily available testing. Unless those variables change soon, forget this calendar year of sports.
Even this idea that the NFL will start their season on time and in front of fans is very unlikely.
Its fine to disagree fellas but lets take the baiting/insults down a notch EVERYBODY. We had to close down the last political thread because people were taking to many unnecessary, underhanded shots at each other. There is a purpose to this thread and thats so people in here who are used to talking to each other can discuss this crisis among what is supposed to be friends. Were starting to border on things getting out of hand and if people can't take the personnel shots down to a friendlier level and the discussion gets a little more civil then we can shut it down again and move this to the political forum.
People can be reasonable, disagree and keep a level head. People can also be reasonable enough to agree to disagree regardless of which side of the isle they see themselves leaning towards politically
DeBlasio yes. Cuomo no and unlike Trump both of those guys don't continue trying to put a date on when life will get back to normal. Leadership is supposed to be a follow by example type situation and if you have a president in place who has all this information prior to state and local governments have it and decides to do nothing or downplay the magnitude as a "hoax" then there are problems.
Trump still continues not to make a federal mandate for all states to shelter in place. Why? If you want to beat this thing, there has to be a consistent approach across the country. We know it doesn't have the same effect in Nebraska it does in New York but the concept is still the same. If you want to stop the spread, you need people to stay home no matter where they are. There is no preparing for something like this. The resources it would take financially are almost inconceivable. Sure they could have done better but there was no blueprint for these things.
Yes. NY should have been prepared. I have stated that deblasio has been horrible. I have stated that Cuomo should have3 been better prepared and enforce the state in place, much sooner but I think his tone is excellent.
This is the thing George. You complain about no one seeing this clearly or that everyone is only leaning one way. That's BS. If you actually looked, you would see the vast majority of posters agree with much of the same things you think.
The biggest issue for you is that most of this thread, including Mush, don't think trump has done a good job with this and you do.
I have zero issue with republicans. I have zero issue with the conservative perspective. As I have stated many times, I am very in the middle.
I defended trump multiple times proper to this. I have stated many, many times that he got the short end of the stick from the media. I stated many times that his words were used for fodder. I have stated many times that they never report the good things he's said and done. I didn't love him as the president but I could see easily enough that the far left and the media were giving him a screw job.
In this case and regarding national security and public health, I think he sucks. I think he's been terrible.
I have read full articles, and watched full interviews to see what is really said to make sure I'm not missing things.
He's been atrocious. Up until very recently, he has mislead the country. He has mislead people and it has ended up getting them sick. His lack of strong intervention let this get to this point.
He invoked his wartime leadership act and didn't use it.
He had factories ready to go but wanted assurance they would be paid if all the products were not needed. he said no.
He put his son in law in charge of the national supplies. Why? Why not someone with legit experience? Why not a military official who can think critically? He is causing states to bid against each other. He is still not being honest about the testing. He is still not being honest about the supplies. That's not the media. That's from the mouths of the governors, both blue and red. That's from the governor in his backyard, Larry Hogan, a republican.
If you don't think him and his family are going to profit from this? Ok.
I do.
Trump is not the only one at fault.
I repeat. He is not the only one at fault.
But he is the president and I believe, he is accountable. You don't feel that he should be. That is where you and the vast majority of this thread diverge.
You want to think we are just blindly following the media? Ok
I think you are burying your head in the sand.
I have great respect and gratitude for what you do. You may know far more on this topic depending one your role.
It is my understanding from people in the medical field, former military high ups and people who have worked in the government, that there were plans in place and there were suggestions to every level of government to have certain preparations. Everyone dropped the ball.
Again, where does the buck stop? I believe at the top. I believe that a warning of this type of thing in 2016 and again in 2018, should have prompted at least reviews of this possibility. Again, on every level. But it needs to start with the POTUS telling states they need to prep.
The virus is not Trumps fault. His response is.
I think the way this has been handled by the leader of our country, has been atrocious. I think he is setting himself and his family up, to profit from they plague. That is why I comment on him the way I do, those are my feelings about him as a person and a leader.
Based on his actions alone, I think he has been disorganized, ineffective and dishonest.
If you disagree, I respect that but sometimes, the media isn't just lying. Sometimes they are reporting.
Folks I would just like to reinforce Dayners earlier comment. In the midst of heated debate sometimes it can get personal. Please let's keep it focused on the issues and not on insults or personal attacks. It is fine to disagree, this country was founded on dissent and revolution. We enjoy the ability to speak freely without fear of unjust and insulting recrimination. Please keep in mind we value all opinion and all are welcome.
In the midst of this crisis let's all not lose sight of the fact, we may not agree with our leadership on all matters, however we are all in this together. I believe we have a small community here capable of support in times of crisis. So feel free to disagree, but let's keep it civil.
Andrew Cuomo @NYGovCuomo
I wish I could promise New Yorkers this will be over soon. I can't.
Here's what I can promise.
I will continue to give you the facts and I will make decisions based on science and data.
New Yorkers deserve nothing less.

I never said trump was doing a great job . I have admitted he has said the wrong things at times . But at the same time I fail to see how he has been so bad either and I especially don’t think anyone else would have done any better . And I still stand by my opinion that cuomo has not done any better than trump .
