Look this Country has been terrible to all kinds of races....There was a lot of damage done to the Japanese Americans in this Country during WWII with President FDR. I can go on and on with oppression to people in this country.

And I don’t care what other Countries have done. The Nazi issue was far more worse IMO. There are many many Countries in this World that have done horrible things to people in their Countries and other Countries because of race.

And originally with regards to this Country the blacks in Africa sold blacks to the White people for slavery. Money is the root of all evil.

The Slavery prior to 1865 and the Japanese war camps during WW II are some of the worst things to happen in the US. Those are stains that will never disappear in this Country.

I’m not for a General Lee monument......I just came from St Augustine and did see a monument in their City square and it talks about reminding people of those terrible events........Reminder is what i’m talking about. It should never be forgotten and people need to see the truth on how the hate was in this Country prior to 1865.

And then from 1865-1968 with the Jim Crow Laws......in many ways the Jim Crow Laws kept the issue going and going.And those laws were even up in the Northern States as well....

I may not vote for 2020. I can’t vote for that idiot Biden and have serious considerations for not voting for Trump.

Biden is just an opportunist. Why is HE going to the Funeral of George Floyd? Why? He is only concerned with votes...he is fake as fake can be....i’ll never vote for THAT guy.

Now Trump is slowly ruining the Country. He is not uniting the Country. I support some of his ideas but do not support him on how he has reacted to this new crisis.

So, I’ll probably be on the sideline for 2020 and wait for 2024 for someone new and fresh and not cut from the same cloth as what we have had for the past 150 years....

By the way those crowds that were cleared in front of the white house were starting to get violent before security there decided to clear them out. Your absolutely right, completely unacceptable. People want reform but they are attacking and killing cops. Killing cops isn't going to give the public alot of sympathy for the people of that movement, its only going to antagonize the situation worse.

If the police constantly feel they are in danger then there are going to be more police violence and shootings.

Question for u guys that i read about. Many people are calling for a national police force like the UK has. The argument is that with the police in the country being under one uniform code of conduct and policies and one leadership instead of having a separate police forces in each state/ city that it could be better managed. They also seem to think with one leadership structure that they would be able to monitor police corruption better because there would be more eyes on situations/problems

Do you guys prefer the system we have now or would u think a national police force would work better for us ?

I think a system like that would be much much much tougher. The US is insane in size compared to the UK. There are 5x(probably more but I'm not sure what's counted here and there as ''police'')

What about counties/towns/areas that have sheriffs that are elected by the people in the district. How do you manage that?

I think there are too many moving parts for that to be feisable.

I think a step in the right direction would be to make all police oversite independent of the force. Every abuse of force can be independently reviewed by an outside unbiased agency of some kind. Of course some bias will always exist somewhere.

These riots protests are getting way out of hand and at least in my area they aren't saying anything about the man that was murdered. They are in the process of shutting down bridges and overpasses in my area because protesters are blocking bridges and others are dropping/ throwing rocks, bricks and glass bottle full or gas or acid onto on coming cars. My wife and daughter just got home and had got a bottle that had acid on it dropped on her SUV and probably did 5g's in paint damage

If you are going to protest police brutality inciting violence, rioting, looting, targeting cops for violence and completely innocent people like my wife, isn't going to win the movement/group any points with the public to help them.

This has gone way past protesting the death of Mr Floyd, these people out at night causing trouble and trying to hurt innocent people are being domestic terrorists and should be treated as such. I respect peaceful protest but this has gone past that. There is zero reasoning to be targeting random people like my wife and daughter

Yeah i'm pissed because my wife and daughter could have been seriously hurt or even killed. If they have to get the national guard in to these cities to stop this crap.

Whats this been going on for now 9 days? even the LA riots didn't last that long. This needs to end NOW
