Antibody testing is more important because it can potentially lead to a vaccine and those who have antibodies have a possible immunity which makes it safer for them to back in the work force. Regular testing for the virus has to be ongoing because your status can change week to week. Day to day even.Quote:

Again the problem with regular testing is its ongoing. Antibody testing allows for it to be a one shot deal. If you have antibodies, the chances are better that you won't contract the virus because you already have had it. Neither that theory or the antibody tests are full proof though.
Not to mention, none of your theory about most of us having been exposed to the virus holds water. LA county just did a study where only 4.1% of the people tested had coronavirus antibodies in their system. That's significantly higher than they thought but if even you grew that out exponentially (remember not everyone is tested and there is margin for error), that means only 400,000 people have had the coronavirus of a population of over 10 million people.
Do you understand why beaches shouldn't be open yet?
I understand that most people going to the beach now would have a greater chance at getting a sunburn and cancer from it than dying or even getting very sick from the virus .Quote:

That's why the estimates went down significantly from their initial death tolls because people were forced (because of nothing to do) or chose to self quarantine at home.
It's like people don't realize what happens when a hospital gets over loaded.
From an ems stand point over the last few weeks, no hospitals in the NYC/LI area were taking cardiac arrest patients(unless rosc was achieved in the field) cath labs were repurposed for covid patients.
So if you went into arrest, only thing that can be done is field work. So if you have a basic emt and a driver respond with no ALS available, all you or your family member will get is chest compressions and a bag.
ALS was stretched very thin due to the overwhelming amount of calls, so they may have been tied up on one of the multiple other alarms an agency may have at the time and not be available for the Arrest.
Or, do to the over whelming amount of calls, the call may have to have been sent to an out of district agency. So a trauma patient, in need of fast medical care, instead of waiting 6-8 minutes for an ambulance to arrive, may have to wait 16-18 minutes for one to arrive and that can be the difference between life and death. Not something very common on trauma calls, because unless multiple other trauma calls are going on at that time, usually ALS would be in a fly car and can get directly to the scene and even if they had to wait for an ambulance from an outside agency, at least they could start advanced medical care in the field.
It's so much more far reaching than just the covid patients.
But, I wouldn't expect someone who has so little understanding of anything, to understand that. As you know they think , beaches are more important than people dying.
