I don’t care about the raw numbers. My point and argument is where is the anger from some of you when the protesters were not practicing social distancing or wearing protective masks?
Some of you bashed the beachgoers but turned a blind eye to the protesters.
I found that just hilarious and saw where people lined up.
It really is US vs THEM
And that is pathetic!
Dr, I see how you try to cover up the protesters and how they were not practice social distancing or wearing masks by going to the THEY OPENED UP TOO SOON narrative.
How about admitting that all were at fault and not just because one reason that only the opposition spotlights? You tell me that I defect but you are doing the same damn thing but it comes from a liberal so it is ok to deflect and to make sure to ram it down the throats of the otherside.
I agree. I went to a funeral real yesterday and it was hard to recognize some faces with the masks being worn. But we followed the County ordinance and the CDC guidelines.
But what about the same type of behavior with protests? No social distancing and no masks with a lot of people in Florida?
But, the way the talk or how it is reported is that every single case is hospital bound and that is far from the truth.
What % of Covid-19 cases are actually hospital bound?
The media put every single cases into one basket and that is so ridiculous. Lots and lots of people can test positive and not even know it and yet the talk is just about deaths. I know 10-12 people who just wanted to get the test and back in March that was not possible because of the screening process. If you didn’t pass then you didn’t get the test yet you could have actually been a positive carrier and didn’t show any symptoms for the screeners to advance you to an actual test. A Lot of asymptomatic people failed the screening process in March. Now flip to June and you just go to anywhere there is a test and those same people would then be tested and bingo, a positive result.
So if everybody back in March got the tests then maybe the numbers in June could actually be lower? Maybe Florida was worse back in March? But we will never know because of the lack of tests in March.
I have said very little regarding the beaches, except in a general condemnation of DeSantis opening too soon. In fact I believe beaches might be safer than indoor spaces, particularly bars, restaurants, clubs ect. Alcohol, desire and opportunity....you get the pic. Also the median age of infected new cases has been dropping steadily.
Again I don't ignore the protesters. I provide data. The data, which at this point is substantial, does not support your position or belief that the protests were a "primary" contributor to the spikes in several states. While opening too soon very well may be, particularly in states that ignore mandatory mask regs.
Dear PSDers,
It would be great if other forums mods wouldn't come in trying to police our forum for no reason.
This place, for the most part, has never had any real issues. Minor things here or there but never anything that caused a big problem at all.
Nobody else in here deletes posts they disagree with or acts like they're so much better than everyone else.
Someone needs to pull the stick out of their *** and leave us alone.
Post like a normal member of our board, sure, but don't go whining to the mods or deleting posts every time someone disagrees with a you.
Makes you look like one of those white privilege, can't do anything wrong, I'm always right dbags.
Not naming names bc I wouldn't want to directly offend someone who's so overly sensitive.
The end.
Love, gf28.

As much as I didn't like people protesting during a pandemic, I understood the reason behind it. There's a difference between unnecessary leisure (going to bars, restaurants, beaches) and fighting against something that has killed millions of people in its own right.
Cause matters. Maybe to you it doesn't but people want change that will matter long past when this virus is over.
People focus so much on the protestors but forget the ****** cops that made people want to protest. If the Derek Chauvins of the world (and there are more like him) don't kill George Floyd, there is no ground swell of support for change, even though there probably should have been already.
