Having chest pains at home and you don't go to the ER because you have heart disease and you are 64 years old, because you are terrified to contract covid but instead die at home, is covid related. Covid didn't directly cause it but it should be a contributing factor.
edit- If you have diabetes and contract covid, then covid exacerbates that condition and you die from kidney failure or a heart attack from the out of control diabetes, yes. Covid is the cause. Its presence caused the system to collapse.
