Who is not blaming China? We know they are a corrupt government. Obviously their numbers are intentionally flawed and they covered this up but last time i checked we dont live under the Chinese government. We have our own government and our own president. A president who has continually ignored all the warnings of this virus because he thought it would hinder his re-election.

Sure, the virus would have still spread (and had significant ramifications on life, the economy, etc) but if Trump and other leaders of the US government move on this in a combined effort sooner, the death toll and spread drops tremendously. Do you understand that? Why do i need to keep explaining this? And they absolutely could have. They chose not to, especially our president who wasted valuable time downplaying the virus.

I hold him accountable as president of this country. You don't. You defend him at every turn.

The rest of your post is complete nonsense. Tourism is an essential part of every country's business. You have American citizens, dual citizens from other countries, people who are here legally who travel back and forth to all parts of the world for business, leisure, etc. We dont exist in a bubble. Other countries similarly to we do in terms of immigration, tourism, business travel, etc.

You shouldn't excuse Trump because the virus was already out there. It suggest his lack of action (that resulted in thousands of deaths and the longer spread of this virus) is somehow justifiable. Its not.

Again what proof do you have that trump knew enough about the virus that he could have prevented thousands of deaths ? And how do you know his traveling bans that he did enact almost 3 months ago , didn’t save many lives ? I think you are giving trump too much credit on his early knowledge and ability to react to it when the rest of the world didn’t do anything more . And while the US Leads the world with the most cases , one thing that is forgotten. Is that the death rate in the US us amongst the lowest in the world . Now that leads Me to believe that something is being done right .

And yet despite all that , Fauci said on 2/29 that the virus was nothing to worry about . Why is that ?

One thing that has me question that article is why was no one in congress or the senate pressuring trump to do anything ? This article leads me to more questions than answers . And then there is the fact that Pelosi threatened trump with legislation blocking his travel bans . Who says she wouldn’t have blocked trump from taking executive action to order lock downs three weeks earlier? And again trump’s response can’t be as bad as the media is stating or navarro’s prediction of half a million deaths wouldn’t , as of right now be off by so much .

This question has been asked and answered numerous times. Please change the narrative. There is growing evidence to suggest he knew as early as Nov., regardless his response was woefully late and clearly incompetent. He may not accept any responsibility but he will be held accountable for the misery and destruction.

He is now cheering on the governors who defy the science and are opening their states prematurely. This is not leadership, it's asinine, belligerent, incompetence. Irresponsible behavior from the leader of the free world. He is pounding his chest for restricting travel from China and demonizing on one hand, but weeks earlier he was praising them amidst his trade deal. What isn't being discussed are the 40K who did travel from China to US post restriction at a time the virus was spreading. Trump has suggested that his action to ban foreigners from entering the U.S. if they were in China before early February has contributed to lower COVID-19 cases and fatalities in the U.S.

"I cut off China very early. And if I didn’t, we would have a chart that you wouldn’t believe," Trump said at a briefing on Friday, referring to White House models on where the virus has spread in the U.S. and how many deaths have occurred.

The reality, 279 flights from China have arrived in the U.S. since Trump's travel restrictions were announced, "and screening procedures have been uneven," the Times notes.

It's almost like one needs food to survive more than they need a trip to the beach to survive. Do you really not understand the difference between a necessary risk and an unnecessary risk? Not to mention that many of these supermarkets have strict measures in place to keep people from getting too close to each other (and that one could do their shopping during off hours to further mitigate this risk).

Very few countries (if any) aced this test. Trump deserves to be second guessed just as much as most any other world leaders. You're seeing more of this vitriol being directed towards Trump because the vast majority of us live in the United States.

I'm of the opinion that the overall impact on the U.S. wouldn't be a ton different if we had Clinton, Obama, or Bush at the helm in 2020 instead. Having said that, my view of Trump is getting worse and worse by the day and my opinion on what I've just said could very well change as we get deeper in to this crisis. For instance, Trump cheering on the public protests in some of these states recently is really concerning and will likely make this situation worse for everyone.
