This is not political. Mush, think about it. Again, this was politicized. There is no doubt.
But the reality is, all of these schools that stand to lose 100s of millions of dollars, are cancelling seasons, they are seriously restricting on campus living and encouraging students to take classes online. These places are losing buckets of money because of this.
Are they doing that to be political? No. They are doing it because it's sensible.

You have to realize that at some point, the phrase, "it's all political" becomes a term used to make reality, appear to be conspiracy.

I truly think the Democratic Party wants to lose the race. Harris is a horrid choice. She is just bad as a VP candidate. You leave Susan Rice and Stacy Abrams out for Harris?

I really am starting to believe that they want to lose because they know how bad the next 4 years will be and they would rather Trump ruin stuff more and then they can find a ridiculously progressive candidate to come in and "save the day"

Now that is a theory I hadn't considered.

Imo it was a wise and calculated decision. First you want to win. You need the center to do so, Biden/Harris are moderates that will attract the center and fence sitters. They are clearly a good distant from "the progressive" wing of the party or in Nick speak "the squad."

She is the safest choice. She has been a reliable ally of the Democratic establishment, with flexible policy priorities that largely mirror Biden’s, and her supporters argued that she could reinforce Biden’s appeal to Black voters and women without stirring particularly vehement opposition on the right or left. Imo she offers the best opportunity to unify the party at this moment.

Safest but not best choice. I fully respect your view. I don't know that she brings in the far left. I think her role in incarcerating black youth is going to be used harshly.
I truly believe the best pick was. Susan Rice. I thought she was better prepared, smarter, funnier and more engaging.
Hopefully those are all aspects of Harris that I have missed and will soon see.

As for what you bolded, I have been suggesting that for some time. If they throw Biden out there a lamb to the slaughter and Trump wins. Trump has 4 years of trying to get the country together. I doubt he does. The republican party looks terrible. The Democrats in the meantime, gain control of the house and senate and can prevent almost anything he wants to do, causing him to fail and then have the ability to push in a very progressive, young, Bernie-esque type candidate.

I think reality is, Biden. is at best a 1 term president, if he even makes it that long. Can you imagine Harris as the POTUS? I cannot. Rice? Yes. Harris? No

I respect your opinion as well. Rice would have been an equally good choice, however if your concern is oppo research she would provide much more ammo than Harris. While working for Obama, Rice became a lightning rod for controversy.

Benghazi, Rice spoke about the melee on television, describing the attacks as "spontaneous violence" rather than as assaults that had been organised by militant groups. Republicans lashed out at her, criticising her televised remarks, and said that she had misled the public about the nature of the assaults. They would hang Benghazi around her neck in the same way they did Hillary. Little value and irrelevant to the R's none of the 10 investigations launched into the attack have found that any member of the Obama administration behaved improperly.

I can easily see Harris as president. She speaks with authority. Has all the right leadership qualities. Knows the law and can be a diplomat when need be. Harris has also proven to be a very determined and aggressive interrogator during her time in the Senate. Trump clearly remembers this, as he remarked on Tuesday evening that he thought Harris was "extraordinarily nasty" to his second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

Trump may not like it, but nasty may be exactly what Biden is looking for in Nov.

Being a hard-nosed crime-fighter may be an attractive attribute among independent and conservative-leaning voters in the general election, but if that support comes at the cost of enthusiasm for the Biden-Harris ticket on the left, then it may not be a net positive.

RRz, I am still waiting for you to answer me about the Kurds, Russian bounties and the party that claims everything they dont like is a hoax. She is a great choice because she provides the ticket with energy, personality, and much more. I wanted Duckworth but Harris is a great choice. The far left looks for any reason not to vote and will again. The far left says that they can't vote for someone on some alleged principal. Best not to count on them.
