I live in the Bronx my daughter has participated in protests and so have my coworkers and neighbors. Key is mask wearing and gloves. Look at the studies that show that first responders and workers with high people contact who wear masks have lower rates of infection then the general public. And people down South were the numbers are rising don't get it. I heard in the radio a woman in Florida saying " I don't wear a mask for the same reason I don't wear panties, some things have to breath " and a man in Florida say he can't use a mask because wearing a mask would prevent him from using his weapon in self defense should something happen. O boy folks. Can't make this stuff up. Also during this thing my wife has taken the NYC Q44 bus Bronx to Queens, to commute to work 90 minutes each way and has not gotten sick. My daughter will start taking the subway to lower Manhattan for her new job as well. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer.

There is also a lag with the death rates. 5-7 day incubation period plus then getting treatment for time in hospitals so could be a month or so before deaths raise that much.

NY also had a lot of deaths because Cuomo said covid patients need to be accepted back into nursing homes(unless I realize it was a CDC guideline but he has been 1 of like 5 governers to implement it, and nys has a terrible problem with under staffing in nursing homes because there is no over sight or real minimum staffing requirements.
So many asymptomatic nursing home employees work at multiple facilities, bringing the virus from one facility to another.

The catch Is with Florida, we won't know what the result will be because it's just started. 20k. tases in 3 days is nuts. My guess is they don't see their peak for at least a week and a half. Just a guess. I predicted 200k cases by august. It could be sooner. If it really happens fast and people overrun the healthcare system, they will see a serious tragedy.
