[QUOTE=RCSownsU;33508837]Reminds me of how the US treats gun violence. We know we can stop it, we just love our freedoms too much to actually do anything to stop it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d9d544fa4c.jpg

Check out how the States are doing now. Florida is on the decline again.

I think MLB is done for 2020.
Well Dr, the uptick of cases was attributed to the migrant workers in Florida. They all packed on buses like sardines when driving to work. These people work very hard and are very loyal but they did not follow the guidelines set by Trump. You need to dig deeper and show the entire story Dr, and not just generalize.

One group needs to sign a release form to protect the party thrower form being blamed and sued, for the spread of the virus, leading to financial penalties.
The other group just did it without fear.
One group has a leader that is an ideal.
The other group has a leader who has downplayed the severity of the spread of this virus. He has made it a non issue. Nothing to fear. Yet he is taking precautions for himself, his family and his checkbook.
Both groups absolutely have the right to and should peacefully assemble
Yes Mush. All those extremely poor people being forced to work in horrid conditions so we can have cheap oranges.
Think about that. The governor is blaming people who have to work and they have to work in horrid conditions. Much like the meat packers, who are also having a huge uptick.
Poor people are fodder for this virus. They are the backbone of the economy and they are being completely dismissed and villainized. Way to go De'santis
Where did he ever say he was against the actual cause??? If you show me then I’ll agree with you.
He is against the violence. People, like the media and others will just say he is against all protests of this movement. Why do people think violent protests like destroying property of others is acceptable because of a cause?
I do not remember ever seeing any peaceful protesters being rounded up and thrown in jail unless they were breaking the law.
And that is one issue I have with some liberals in this Country. They have no issue of breaking the laws and being held accountable. Why were people who destroyed property and stole during the civil unrests not arrested as some police departments were told by their higher ups to leave it alone?
Pressure groups got to them. Is that the way this Country should be run now? Pressure groups taking over and deciding on what to do when people break the damn laws?
It is ridiculous!
And that has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CAUSE. It is just a damn excuse to allow laws to be broken because of fear of blowback.
That is fair. But the problem is the agitators will try to start up more crap.
And what are they protesting?
Do we as a Country start protesting all campaign rally’s on both sides of the aisle?
It will happen to Joe Biden as well If he ever comes out of his hole and has a campaign rally. I’m not saying don’t protest anything you want I’m just against the violence that is purposely done to get a reaction and to show how big and bad these agitators try to be.
That is your opinion. If people want to go it is their choice. This is America?
You were not saying any of this when peaceful protesters in the past 3 weeks were not wearing masks or following guidelines from the CDC.
Why just a damn rally? What is the difference than a protest? That is what I mean about people moving the goalposts to whatever their opinion is.
Also, This is no different than going to a damn grocery store and seeing all of the idiots not following guidelines but will be ignored because it is a necessity. Bullspit!
He's obviously not just against the violence.
I never said he was against the cause per se. Trump is dumb but he's not that dumb. You're never going to know his true feelings on race. His actions don't speak much to a guy who wants equality, unity, a change in culture. In fact, most of his actions/words suggest the opposite. Its all about dividing people, inciting hostility, etc. That said, he has an election he wants to win and he knows his base (to varying degrees) like the status quo of not kneeling, no changes in police culture, etc. Depending on how conservative they are, they may even be okay (and advocate) with using violence on peaceful protestors.
Using language like "thugs", sic "vicious dogs" when making reference to people protesting for a just cause doesn't speak to someone who understands the gravity of what is going on around him either.
Its not my opinion. It's scientific based fact that gathering people together in large numbers is a bad idea when it comes to the coronavirus. Again, I don't care about the people going to the rally. Scrap that, I do care because it could get their friends and family sick. Great, its America and they have choices but their choices can negatively impact other people.
My issue is with the idiot holding the rally. We don't need a 20,000 person circle jerk that literally serves zero purpose in the midst of a pandemic. He's smart enough to get people to sign a waiver that precludes him from any civil liability in catching the coronavirus though. If he's aware enough to do that, then he's aware he's putting people at risk.
If you don't know the difference between a Trump rally and protests against racism, then its time for you to bow out of this discussion. I'm having flashbacks of our argument about why going to the store is a necessity and going to the beach isn't. You clearly have zero understanding about what is done for legitimate reasons and what isn't.
Don't preach to me about the protests and the virus. I said in this thread 2 weeks ago that I was worried about the virus spread and all the large gatherings of people protesting. Way before you could put two and two together. That said, I'm not going to equate Trump's unnecessary ego stroking to people wanting to end racism, reform policing, etc.
LOL. You bought DeSantis narrative hook, line and sinker. Actually Nick I suggest you dig (no pun intended) a little deeper.
According to the Post article: "Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried argued that the majority of farmworkers left several weeks ago after harvests ended and that the real uptick is in non-agricultural areas, according to the Miami Herald."
This state is projected to be the next epicenter.
The spike in Florida’s figures, with close to 90,000 cases and deaths surpassing 3,000, comes as the majority of its 67 counties reach the end of the second week of DeSantis’ “safe, smart, step-by-step” reopening plan. Beaches, bars and restaurants, movie theaters and entertainment venues are mostly open again.
DeSantis, meanwhile, contends that Florida is on the right track, arguing that the rising figures can be attributed to increased testing, particularly among younger residents, and concentrated pockets of outbreaks among agricultural workers, prison inmates and even a 52% positivity rate among airport workers – an unsubstantiated claim debunked by the Orlando Sentinel.
He refuses to consider calls to slow or reverse the pace of Florida’s reopening. “We’re not shutting down. We’re going to go forward. We’re not rolling back. You have to have society function,” DeSantis said on Tuesday.
